All I know is Kaazcha was a great movie. I'll post a review for those interested.

Is this available on DVD ( with subtitle) ?, This movie has been on my viewing wish list for so long (along with Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Nizhalkuthu).I would like to see these films before I read or engage myself in a discussion on them. Any info on their public availability is appreciated.

As far as public availabilty dvdisoil, there is none, unfortunately. I saw this movie in the cinema. Malayalam movies, especially ones with high production values such as this, take very very long if ever, to get on to DVD. Your best bet is to wait until this movie comes on VHS or even on VCD(maybe). VHS version will actually most likely be cropped, and don't expect subtitles. Sorry for the pessimistic view, but it's the reality, again, unfortunately.

As far as the film, I think it would have had a better chance at the Oscars than Shwaas, because it was so much more subtle, socially relevant, and indian, while at the same time exploring universal themes.

I hear you pillairaj ..., Malayalam Films have intrigued me so much and I wish I could sink my eyes into them. The following website got me started - this is excellent reading ( in case you did not know this already )

http://www.cinemaofmalayalam.net/

Perhaps one day these films will see light of the day. I **Pray** some distributor is reading this and understands there is a niche market for such films . I will be visiting India in April and I plan to "look around" for these films. I hope to nail down at least a few of them .

Thank you for your response
