NOW, ISHA started with KHALLAS and has been surprisingly shaping up to be a GOOD ACTRESS too..and ofcourse HOTTIE too..She looked very authentic and all covered up in PINJAR, She did well in KRISHNA COTTAGE!

It looks like to me SHe will FINALLY go places!! As she is experimenting a lot varoety of characters..I wish her GOOD LUCK!

Working in GIRL FRIEND is no discredit imho, afterall, Shabana and Nandita did work in FIRE!!(not HELL)

The latest girl friend of Bollywood has nothing to do with its namesake made by Satyen Bose in 1960 with artistes like Kishore Kumar, Waheeda Rehman and Nasir Hussain.

8 years after Deepa Mehta's controversial Fire stormed the screen; actor-writer-turned-director Karan Razdan is ready to test the same waters with the similar subject. The maker of moderate hit Hawas is ready with another film, Girl Friend. Being produced by Harry Baweja, for whom Razdan has scripted film like Dilwale, Diljale and Deewane, Girl Friend is the story of two girls and one guy. Sounds interesting?

Tania (Ishaa Koppikar) and Sapna (Amrita Arora) are childhood friends. They are absolutely cool with each other. Tania is a girl with troubled childhood. And she is very possessive about Sapna.

Said to be loosely inspired by director Adrian Lyne's 2002 movie Unfaithful, Girl Friend is an attempt to cash the current trend of sizzling movies. And the makers have cleverly opted for the subject of lesbianism. But hold on, the publicity of film is far away from confirming it.

Lives of Tania and Sapna move on very well until one day when Sapna comes across Armaan (Aashish Chowdhry) and, first befriends him and then falls in love with him. Troubles begin at this point because Tania cannot think of sharing her friend with anyone.

The problem Sapna is facing is the fact that she cannot do away with either of her two lovable companions. Now, the question is what will happen of them? Will Tania give up and let her best friend live happily ever after or will she turn wild and snatch her girl from Armaan?

According to the director, the relationship between two the female protagonists is not shown in sexual manner. But at the same time, viewers will see a scene in the film where Tania is dreaming that Sapna caresses her. Our guess about what this means is as good as ours. And moreover, there are some hints given in the film that indicates Tania's lesbian urges.

Girl Friend will be released soon and it will prove Karan's place in the industry. Also, it will prove to be an important film for all three lead artistes of it because none of them are established will. Looking at the stills of film, one can say that the director has tried his best to do imaginative work. And while Karan himself is an experienced writer, one can expect that this film will deliver more than flesh to its viewers.

Girl Friend is slated for release in June 2004.
