Have heard the Tamil version.

The tracks are really cool and they grow on you with each listen. I do think they are a slight improvement on Boys and KKS...catering more towards the younger teen audiences!! I doubt it will attract the mature audiences that prefer mature melodies like Dil Se...

I can't wait to see the Needana song, as that looks amazing in the Tamil trailers...Trisha is HOT!!!

'Yuva' Music: A Winner!

By Taran Adarsh, March 17th, 2004 - 0930 hrs IST

Undeniably, A.R. Rahman is a complete original. And the soundtrack of YUVA more than proves the fact, living up to the humungous hype and expectations surrounding it.

When two giants - Mani Ratnam and A.R. Rahman - join hands to create music, expect nothing but sheer magic. We haven't forgotten the gems composed by Rahman in Ratnam's ROJA, BOMBAY and DIL SE…, have we? Now add YUVA to this illustrious list.

YUVA has five songs in all and one music piece, but if you ask me my favourite, it would undoubtedly be the music piece [filmed on Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherji] and 'Shukriya Meherbaani' [filmed on Vivek Oberoi, Kareena Kapoor], in that order.

The 3-minute music piece proves why A.R. Rahman is still the numero uno. The orchestration is rich and the sound is amazingly different. In fact, the racy music reminds you of the music played at clubs throughout Europe. And, don't be surprised, if it takes the Indian nightspots by storm as well…

Since the film is titled YUVA and talks about youth, the music of the film has been designed keeping the essence of the film in mind.

The title track [filmed on Ajay Devgan], 'Suno Suno' [filmed on Ajay Devgan, Esha Deol] and 'Hone Do Dil Ko Fana' [filmed on Vivek Oberoi, Kareena Kapoor] are sure to find a place in the Top 10 charts of music countdowns.

Of course, no Rahman album would be complete without a soft, seeped-in-melody track. And YUVA has that in the form of 'Kabhi Neem Neem, Kabhi Shahed Shahed' [filmed on Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherji].

Undoubtedly, YUVA is amongst Rahman's best offerings!

The writer was invited for an exclusive preview of the songs of YUVA by Venus, the music company that is marketing the album. The soundtrack is expected to hit the stores on March 18, 2004.

The music is the same except for lyrics. Here's a listing of the songs in hindi, and which they've been remade from Tamil.

- Yuva Title Song
Picturized on: Ajay Devgan
Rendition: AR Rahman, Karthik, Lucky Ali, Madhusri
Remade from: Jana Mana Gana

- Hone Do Dil Ko Fanaa
Picturized on: Vivek Oberoi, Kareena Kapoor
Rendition: AR Rahman, Alka Yagnik
Remade from: Fanna

- Suno Suno/Badal Woh Aaye
Picturized on: Ajay Devgan, Esha Deol
Rendition: Adnan Sami, Mehboob
Remade from: Santa Kolli

- Kabhi Neem Neem, Kabhi Shahed Shahed/Ek Raat
Picturized on: Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee
Rendition: Karthik, Madhusri
Remade from: Nenjam Ellam Kathal

- Sukhriya Meherbaani/Anjaana Anjaani
Picturized on: Vivek Oberoi, Kareena Kapoor
Rendition: AR Rahman, Lucky Ali
Remade from: Hey Goodbye Nanbha

- Spark of an Illusion
Picturized on: Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee
Remade from: Dol Dol

I haven't heard all the songs, but I can confirm this is correct when talking about the title song, fanaah, dol dol, anjaana anjaani and badal woh aaye.

Trisha is in the tamil version? damn..i love this girl! sat through a entire telegu movie just to see her. i think it was called varsham. saw her tamil movie lessa lessa. what other movies has she acted in? and i'm glad madhavan & mani ratman are back together aswell. i understand very little tamil which makes it a bit hard & we dont get tamil movies with subtitles here so that doesn't help either.... :(

Well, now i am in better situation to comment after lending my own ears! to both, hindi/tamil..

1..exactly same music, translated into hindi, seems like tamil songs were created first, and MEHBOOB hopelessly translated them into hindi, with TERRIBLE lyrics..THUMBS DOWN.

2. music is peppy, with wonders of beats, kinda urban, mostly, heavily oriented around wizardary of beats..it is ok, from that perspective, but talking taran's words..that was bit loud exeguration, calling it masterpiece.
imho, mature of what, saathiya, and dil se, were soulful, and even saathiya was a translated album, gulzar provided soul to rehmab's rhythums..it is not as turkey as LAKEER!

3. IMHO, and I am not the ultimate authority, this album, will WORK BETTER in SOUTH! in Tamil version, that in my perspective will possibly do better as a film, than HINDI version, that might end up another TURKEY with ABHISHEK etc!

Musicindiaonline is not a friend to those with dial-up connections!

I listened to some of a few Yuva songs and I like the Tamil versions better so far, though Lucky Ali's part of Khuda Hafiz sounds decent in Hindi. The female part of that song is better in the Tamil version IMO. sou Too bad this couldn't be another MR/Rahman/Gulzar combo like Dil Se and Saathiya, but I suppose Mehboob is better than Sameer...

Man, those LYRICS r simply awful/terrible/pathetic

#5 paani bhi layega, chai bhi laayega, khana bhi layega, uski marzi..what the heck is this?

#1 shuka buga buga, duga duga duga,

Shuriya, mehrbani, khuda hafiz, anjana, anjani..my god!!

Fana,..is very much influenced by TOD DE ZANJEER from Tehzeeb.

Dola dola..uses same beat as SHAKALAKA BABY

I thought, telefone dhun maen hansne waali was DUMB!!!

and People thought, NAYAK, was really bad lyrics by late bakshi sahab!

** I totlay agree with u dragun, I am prefering TAMIL too, as IGNORANCE is blessing!
I atleast dont understand , what is being said, and dont feel TORTURED by those IDIOTIC..POETRY!!!!

MAJOR LET DOWN BY MEHBOOB!
