Rana this is a fact... as DograK has pointed out that,
Ash @ Cannes is a joke as a Jury member. She is there just for the publicty and cane you imagine... quality filmmakers have to impress her to get the respective awards ?... Is India bereft of directors / actors/ actresses that Ash Rai was chosen be a jury member ?

Think abt this... Adoor Gopalakrishnan has been honoured by the Govt of France... and IMO he would have been a worthy Jury member, who would have judged a film based solely on its merits and not anything else... and who has an experience in Film Making...
If I am not mistaken... isnt one of his films being screened @ Cannes this year ? (I think thats the reason why he wasnt invited :( )

Being picked to be a jury at cannes just for publicity, is even a bigger reason to be proud of.

Moreover, she does have a vote.

Hey at least she speaks good English, looks good and won't embarrass India. Look at Armaan! That is gonna be a quite an embarrassment at Cannes!
