i think the censor bord is stupid why the hell would you want to censor kissing you see people kissing on the street i think they should take out thses old people and put some younger people on the job. in my opinion if they censor kissing i am surprised that the so called "actress" who wears these really tiny tiny short short tight tight closed far worsed for young kids to see than kissing come on u barely dont even see prostitutes wearig those kind of clothes i the west and plus they even show "actresses" wearing them in a family film made by yrf, rajeshwari etc... ex kkhh
by the way i heard khal nayak had so many censor cuts including the song choli ke piche kya hai but ghai had to go 2 court to get it back in the movie and i checked what other parts they cut out but they dont even have khal nayak on the list do any of u know what scence were cut ff for a stupid reason

If you think those cuts were bad, look at their criteria for certifying movies - if a film has a lip to lip kiss in it, it gets an Adult certificate (total bakwaas of course!)

More cut movies:

Freaky Chakra

Saamurai (Tamil)

I wonder how the four letter words got through the censors in Leela. And I've seen the whole movie on Zee TV without any cuts. I wonder why films are so strictly shown in theaters but are allowed to be shown without cuts on TV where children are more likely to see...

India's censorship is a joke. Imagine they censor things like kissing but sex and nudity are there (Ek chotisi love story, Mera Naam Joker, etc).

Not only that but swearing such as 'shit' in KKHH was allowed in the UK version and it was even given a rating of U, meaning suitable for all, which means little kids can go see it without their parents. In the UK, no British or American film will be given a U rating if it contains world like 'shit' or 'b*****', so why do they allow it for Indian films?

hows everybody doing.. i've been out of there for a while and expecting to see things new. but same ol same ol stuff.

Anyhow, as for censorship in india is concerned, they are very inconsistent making it look meaninglesss to even have some movies cut and others go thru without cut.

i remember Sunny Deol shouting "Fuc* You" and showing fingers in one of the movie, i beleive it was LOOTERE. From which corner would that be suitable for everyone?

and why kissing is censored in movies, there are movies like DIL, PREM-AGGAN, MOHABBATEIN, RAJA HINDUSTANI which has dedicated kiss scenes!! ........ o well...

I think I've seen a movie poster on which someone is giving the finger with both hands! Is there no regulation of that? Or do people in India not know that it means "f**k you"?

I was checking the CBFC site and it mention all this categories of U ,A,UA, and S. But doesn't explain what it stands for.. Anyone have an Idea?

U - general?
A - Adults - 18 and over
UA - Pg 13?
S -??

Got it.. after few search....

U- Universal Exibhition
A- Restricted to Adult Audience
UA - Unrestricted public exibhition with parental Guidence for children under 12
S - public exhibition restricted to Specialized Audience ie. doctors

Quick question, not sure if anyone will know this one. I recently got the VCD of the film Saaya (with Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Dhillon, not the John Abraham one). This is a Ramsay's film, not sure if it is a proper horror, or more of a horror/thriller.

Anyway, to the main question - the film has an 'A' certificate, but has been 're-revised' - anyone know why the film had to be revised (at least) twice?
