Billoo Barber, SRK's newly announced film is in the news everywhere.

Any idea of the plot ?? Could it be inspired/ copied from "Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" ??

http://www.amazon.ca/Sweeney-Todd-Demon ... 830&sr=1-3

lol.... no the film is a direct remake of the Malayalam film Kadha Parayumbol (which is amazing and highly recommended). I personally feel Priyadarshan will not bring much justice for the Hindi remake. He hasn't made a decent Hindi film in a long time.

It was recently remade into the Tamil/Telugu version of Kuselan, starring Rajinikanth. It was the worse Tamil/Telugu film of 2008.

If it is PRIYA DARSHAN film, it has to be a REMAKE, nothing otherwise  Whatever PRIYA will make money! Thats what it all matters!

Priyan is also remaking Mohanlal's Chandralekha with Anil Kapoor this year with the same name

Billu Barber may be a copy of earlier Tamil/ Telugu film, but perhaps it has something not seen in Bollywood before. SRK film and Preetam music combo.
Correct me if there has been an earlier SRK film that had music by Preetam.
Looking forward to it.

The premise of the film is great, but I frankly can't remember the last Priyadarshan flick I enjoyed. Dude's style is so over-the-top family melodrama (i.e. characters screaming at each other) or comical nonsense (characters running around in utter confusion).
Of course, with the directorial vision of Farah Khan or David Dhawan, I think this flick would be a blast.

Guys, I said vision, NOT visionary. :)

And yep, I do think Farah and David have plenty of it. Agree with me or not, but I thought Main Hoon Na was barrels of monkey fun. And Om Shanti Om, while an overall crappy film, worked well as a series of individual comedic skits.

David is very inconsistent, but when he gets a good editor, his films hold up very well. I can still watch an Aankhen, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya or Deewana Mastana over and over again, and not feel bored.

Priyadarshan, on the other hand, is great for innovative song videos, but his films are always about screaming characters and other nonsense.

The irony, or should I say, the funny thing is, that David Dhawan is primarily an Editor by training & vocation, who turned Ddirector much later.

If every thing that works well, counts as VISION!then we are down to FK, DD and Priyadarshan too!

I wonder if Billu Barber will be a hit or not ?? It's being promoted solely on the basis of SRK and his three ladies but they are just for three item numbers. Sure, Ifran Khan, hero of the film, is a great actor and does have his fan following but aam aadmi goes to see the film expecting SRK and his three heroines may come out disappointed, not seeing enough of them ??

Billu Barber promotions sure are "Haathi Ke daant dikhane ke aur aur Khaane ke aur" ??

Added Later:
After seeing the film, must say that the above comment doesn't apply. SRK sure had a big role, almost as big as Ifran Khan. His three heroines (Kareena, Deepika in one full song each and Priyanka for less than one complete song) though were just for the song and nothing else.

I'm sure Ifran Khan will carry the film on his own acting capabilities but if people go to see SRK instead, they may be disappointed ??
