No offense, but the less talking to you, the better.

I apologise if I stepped any one's sensitivity here!

It was never the intent, target of contention are bollywood film makers and their trashy products those are nominated for best films etc.

I agree, but I think these award shows are for giving those crappy bollywood film-makers a pat on the back and to carry on doing what they do best. But sometimes you've got to blame the India audience also for making some of these films hits at the box office. It sends out the wrong signal to these film-makers that they don't have to try very hard to keep audiences happy.

By the way, Umrao Jaan I don't think was really that bad. KANK was so bad that I don't even want to talk about it.

DC, you know our tastes align more often than not, but... really? The effort was undoubtedly put in, but the performance just didn't gel for me. I'd much rather see Aish on there (strange she's not even included in your final five, despite your love for Umrao Jaan.)

I agree~~ not only @home but overseas who contribute hugely to their revenues, buying audio/videos and watching in sterling pounds!

IN fact it is the patronage given by the audiences in US and UK that are keeping the likes of Johar's & Chopra's going. If it were not for the overseas business, KANK is a big flop.

Sorry for the late reply, been busy with alot of other stuff of late. Anywho, much of my taste favours those selections that go against the grain. Aish's lachrymose performance was just as beautiful to watch as was Abhishek's, but in the latter's case, he brought forth a solid spirit of subtility that left me wanting for more. Decidedly, selecting Aish amongst the five best female performance of 2006 seem to me a too obvious of a selection, since; it's an award-worthy-bait role, and second, given her natural super-stardom. Many seem to exclude Alice Patten's sincere (I felt, and hence my selection) in RDB. If not, just give her recognition for learning a foreign language.

With regards to the Filmfare Awards night this past weekend. I'm not at all surprised to see that it was a continous joke of an awards show. The only class present(or wasn't) was Aamir Khan's uninvolvement with these trolls, whom make it soo obvious that their filled with envious feeling for one another.
