Has anyone heard or seen the movie in which Aamir Khan first starred in as an Adult Actor titled 'Holi'?

Rediff reports on one of their quizzes:

Holi was Aamir Khan’s first film as an adult actor. The film captures what happens when the authorities of a college refuse to grant holiday for Holi. Director Ketan Mehta made a cameo appearance at the end of the film.

I dont remember this movie....does anyone else?

I saw this film long time ago on VHS.

I don't remember the details, but it's about Ragging (I don't think it was Holi; May be it was about Holi?? Same theme) mennace in Colleges. Extremely tragic and Hard Hitting Film.

No, I haven't even heard about it. I know that Aamir played as a kid in Yaadon Ki Baraat or something, and I thought that Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak was his first film as an adult actor. :o
I'm curious. :o

HOLI was a telefilm telecast on Doordarshan in the eighties.
It has to do with ragging in a college hostel. The lead was played by Ashutosh Gowariker. Kitu Gidwani played a role in the movie as well, if I am not mistaken she was Aamir Khan's girlfriend. I did not even know who he was when I saw the movie. It was a late night telecast. Since I cannot remember for sure what role Aamir Khan played, I am not sure if he played the role of the guy who rags or gets ragged. A little hazy there. He may have even sported a moustache and had close cut hair.

Naseeruddin Shah had a small cameo. The movie was shot entirely on FTII campus and was more like a workshop film for the actors concerned. I believe it was shot on 16mm.

RAAKH was to have been Aamir Khan's first full length feature film, except it was released after QSQT. It was an astonishingly dark movie and AK acted very well.

Aarkayne is right.

I think, Holi is the saddest film I ever saw.

Aamir's debut film gets traced after 20 years

By IndiaFM News Bureau, January 25, 2007 - 11:31 IST

It’s been 19 years that Aamir Khan has been a part of the film
industry (this is excluding his childhood performances). He made his
debut in with Ketan Mehta’s Holi and his first film as a lead actor
was Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. But now we found out that Aamir
had actually done a film even before he acted in Holi. The superstar
of today got his first break when the then FTII student Indrajeet
Singh Bansal was shooting his diploma film. Indrajeet met Aamir in
a Theatre workshop and took him in his film.

In the video, Aamir Khan is seen as a college student and he also
dances on the track Kehdu Tumhe from the film Deewar with his
onscreen girlfriend in the typical Bollywood style. It is also said that
Ketan Mehta signed Aamir for Holi after he saw the clips of this film.
The director of the film, Indrajeet Singh says that Aamir was always
very innovative and grasped things quickly.

This film has been lying in the library of Film and Television
Institute of India (FTII) for nearly 20 years now. Though Aamir was
never a FTII student, this film has been safely kept with diploma films
of other FTII ex-students like Jaya Bachchan and Subhash Ghai.
