Just caught this today evening. Great debut from Kabir Khan. Excellent subject, extra-ordinary treatment and great acting by Arshad Warsi. I would have preferred that someone else play in place of John Abraham, but cant say who. He was only adequate. In the end its extremely touching and pinpoints at the futility of war. It ofcourse does clearly paint in black & white the overall villains which is a bit simplistic. I think that was done on purpose to keep it from being overly cerebral which is a disappointment. But a movie nevertheless that needs to be watched.

Do you feel that this movie may have been heavily censored for theatrical screening in India and/or abroad.

No, I did not quite get that impression, though there was scope for censorship for the US audiences but here the censors dont necessarily edit things just because movies are critical of the current govt. policies.

The terrible thing was that alongwith the print came a trailer of DHOOM2 which means this was ready far ahead of DHOOM 2 being released and was released only now. I wish YashRaj had made a more concerted effort of promoting and exhibiting at least in the art house cinemas. I know it has been panned by the press here and for valid reasons, yet its watchable largely and may have made a mark with audiences that go to such theaters for foreign fare.
