well i haven't heard the songs of Rog as yet but i loved Sur & Jism. i also liked the track M M Kreem composed for Saaya. if Rog is similar to any of these soudtracks then i'm sure its gonna rock!

I am glad Khiladi Sahab!! you have a good ear for good, mellow tunes!!

Just let me revisit Karem, only what I have listened!!
First I listened to his CRIMINAL songs!! and duet in that album, was simply mesmerizing..film did not have many songs and was a thriller!!

Then I listened to his Zakhm!!and I got hooked!! Zakhm was altogether different genre!! and people dismissed it originally, being slow/sad music!! But it was not that!!

Then Jism..Erotic/Thriller with Touch of Sensuality/..results you all know!

Sur..based on Music..simply fabulous!!

But all these albums were very different genre from each other!

Then Saaya!! was supernatural thriller/romance! and Unfortunately he did only one track, and that was absolutely the best!! Anu malik, re arranged the same track 3 times!and he got the credit!! I fish Karem would have done entire album!

Finally, Rog, is altogether a different class of genre, stylish, crime thriller with some love lost(I think) and music fits absolutely to the mood of the film!(only thing about Rog, I am concerned is Whether Irfan Khan who is very very talented will be able to carry, stylized polished role)

Bhatts have used previously Anu Malik, e.g Phir Teri Kahani, Tamana, Saaya, Paap..etc with Success!

Vikram Bhatt used N-S for Kasoor..and I enjoyed that too!
But I must say, I dont cherish all ANU/NS albums the way I do for Karem, Rehman etc!

Thnx Rita ji! for ur kind/nice comments and goodwill gesture! I appreciate that!

Firstly, I'm disgusted none of you offered any condolences for my dead dog :P

Rita ji, dosti kar hi lete hain!! It is at the end of the day just a matter of differing opinions - like Arsh, I love the songs to Zakhm and Sur - and Rog too. But I also like some of the typical stuff too - at the moment I like a couple of tracks from Socha Na Tha. Fav music directors currently would have to be M.M Kreem, A.R. Rehman, and Shankar Ehsaan Loy. I used to like Nadeem Shravan quite a bit, but they fell to the bottom of my list when I found out so many of their songs had been copied - examples being Tu Meri Zindagi Hai and Mera Dil Tere Liye from Aashiqui, and practically the whole album of Kal Ki Awaz. and now, their songs are just rehashes, same old beats, same old 'melody'. Anu Malik is similar, but has provided some good work like Asoka, Border and Refugee.

And I've just realised I've ranted on for quite a while about nothing in particular..............

How would we know? your puppy is no more

I offer you my shoulder and heart felt sympathy and condolence in your sorrow yaar!!

BTW!! I agree with you, anu did some good work, but most of time he is run of mill TATTU too..same tunes, same beats, just rearranged differently!!

Anu's good albums..ofcourse, Border, Refugee, Asoka, Aks, FILHAAL etc, might be a couple more!! but you can still count them on your fingers!

btw..I did like yaadein too..but it was heavily influenced by ghaii!

some other good albums those did not get fame, were his recent past, badhaii ho badhaii...

in year of asoka, he did good work!

I recommend you tune in to Vaada for music that ROCKS! delivered by Himesh Reshammiya.

For kickass songs listen to Ishq Uska!! A smooth passionate singer and of course get down with Kurti Sexy Babe song, guaranteed to knock you off your feet!

Then again, if funeral Rog is your style be prepared to suffer torment for an hour of your life.[/quote]

Oh you mean this one:

LOL

http://planetbollywood.com/Music/Vaada/

"Maula" and "Teri Kurti Sexy" are repeated on the B-side. Argh! What have we done to deserve such a wonderful treat?

You might argue that with "Tere Naam" there was an unusual love story that must have inspired Himesh Reshammiya to come up with some of his best songs. It´s not as if "Vaada" is lacking in the story department. The story of a blind man being deceived by his friend and beloved had so much potential for melodious tunes with rich and insightful lyrics. Instead, the music director and the lyricist have taken the easy way out and come up with mostly forgettable songs. What a shame

*** What a shame!! VAADA is a CLUNK SOUND TRACK in my opinion, that gives you HIGH initially like an ILLICIT drug, followed by DOOM!

another good review of shameful hit score( masterpiece per arsh standards)

http://www.bollyvista.com/article/a/31/3783

Overall:

In a nutshell, the album of 'Vaada' is unpleasant and does not manage to create any charm on the listeners, thus getting them bored altogether. Buying this soundtrack is a total waste of time and money.
Overall Rating: 3/10

btw rita , if you dont mind? how old is your kind self?

'Rog' screening almost stopped in Pakistan

By Taran Adarsh, December 17th, 2004 - 0930 hrs IST

Pooja Bhatt has had the honour of being the first mainstream Hindi film producer in the history of Indian cinema to have the world premiere of her films in Pakistan. The prestigious Limca Book of Records has noted that first PAAP and now ROG have had their world premieres at the Kara Film Festival in Pakistan. Both the films were produced under the banner of Fish Eye Network P. Ltd. [Pooja's banner] in association with Shreya Creations P. Ltd.

However, not many are aware that the agitated Pakistani censor officials had actually demanded that the screening of ROG be stopped. It so happened that while the screening of ROG was underway at the Kara Film Fest, the censor officials suddenly turned up at the venue and demanded that the screening of all Indian films be brought to an end as it was against the law of the land.

Instead of yielding to the pressures, the organizers of Kara Film Fest decided to confront the officials. “Arrest us if you please, but the Festival will continue as we have planned. The Indian films are a part of this Festival; we shall not at any cost stop screening them,” the organizers echoed.

The quiet strength and dignity with which they conducted themselves made the authorities back down. However, they continued to hover around the venue everyday hoping that their presence would force the organizers to give in to their demands. But that did not happen!

Says Mahesh Bhatt, “When the world will look back through the mist of time at the changing face of the Indo-Pak friendship, they will have to acknowledge the role played by these young men and women at the Kara Film Festival. And as far as Pooja and I are concerned, we couldn't be more satisfied with the one brick we've laid on the road to everlasting peace.”

ROG releases worldwide on January 7, 2005.
