The first Apsara awards have been
handed out.
Apsara was supposed to be different, more credible, about
artistic achievement, not popularity.
Then why do they look just the same
as all the others?
More back patting by the industry on the same backs that got all the
other awards. While I agree with a few awards I fail to see the overall progress here. Serious cinema is as underrepresented as ever.

When even the National Awards have stooped down to these crass levels, why should we have expected anything different from an Award ceremony that is totally controlled by the Bollywood insiders. All I can suggest is, just ignore them all, like i do. An industry full of mediocre talents needs to pat each other's back and feel bigger than their already bloated egos. They all know that the other does not deserve any awards but as a tit for tat favor they all participate in these melas and why not, after all they pay good money for a couple of hrs work.

One thing that CAUGHT my EYE! is PINJAR consistently awarded in few categories and URMILA WON BEST ACRESS NOD for PINJAR, not BHOOT!! amazing!!

Another Extremely GOOD PICK is PANKHAJ KAPOOR as SUPPOERTING ACTOR for MAQBOOL..!!
