Looks like awards based on critiques, not popularity.

This is the way awards should be. On true merrit. Not on how popular a film or a star is/ was, or on how much a movie made. Populaity, Profits or Gross Collections should be, and are, awarded by the Box Office.

Well, I have no disagreement with those awards (PINJAR would have been my #1 of 2003), but Preity Zinta even being nominated for KAL HO NAA HO is idiotic. Nothing about that performance was good - it reeked of artificiality and attitude. In a word, it sucked.

I concur with u Kamran, neither her/nor SRK!!in KHNH..i was comfortable with jaya's nomination..

Preity, for sure did qualify to win, best actress in a negative role, for ARMAAN! she was tremendous in that role, even with atrocious wig! :baaa:

I agree. Preity's work in ARMAAN was actually quite impressive, whereas in KHNH she had no character. It was a superficial figure which had no depth or backstory. She screeched through the scenes where she was annoyed, and her emotional scenes left me cold. Shahrukh Khan was equally hamming it up, a truly pathetic piece of acting. Where is the actor that used to make movies like DIL SE.. and ASOKA? Saif Ali Khan and Jaya Bachchan saved the movie, but even then I would give it only *1/2 out of four (and that's generous).

By the way, I actually liked Preity's wig in ARMAAN. She looked cute, IMO. LOL.

I agree KAMRAN, I did LIKE HER even with THAT WIG!
HER ACT was CLASS ACT!

It is the SAME WAY, while watching TERE NAAM< SALLU, GAY HAIR, did not come in my way!! They just went fine!! I did like him too..

AB's WIG was another one!! That WAS TOO DRAMATIC to my taste in ARMAAN, and along with the WIG I did not care much for his act, as his role was HALF BAKED!
