The only Bollywood movies that I have seen in which every song in it sounds like a masterpiece is Fiza and Devdas. It seems that the music directors of those two movies really put some love into their art. Can anyone recommend any other movies that have a total masterpiece soundtrack?

Go Back to the oldies.... by Raj Kapoor

Barsaat ( all songs were chartbusters)...
Awaara (legendary)
Shree 420... (incomparable)
Sangam...(Binaca Geet Mala used to be dominated by tunes from Sangam..)
Ram Teri Ganga Maili..(his last masterpiece)...

I can vouchsafe that all songs from these movies are gems in their own right !

Fiza is no masterpiece... ( barring a few songs)
So also with Devdas...

Rahmans all-time classics:
Dil Se
Lagaan
Kandukondain Kandukondain
Roja
Zubeidaa (the list is endless)

-Dil To Pagal Hai (mediocre entertainer, but great songs)
-Maachis (each song along with Gulzar's profound lyrics are just memorizing)
-1942 A Love Story (Pancham's last great offering)
-Abhimaan
- Pyasaa (Guru Dutt's masterpiece)
- Kabuliwala

Umrao Jaan
Chori Chori

If you are interested in a superior score with an Indian
flair from a Western composer listen to "The Little Princess" by Patrick Doyle. It's bohut bohut khoobsurat!
