Ten first-time directors to compete at Guadarrama fest - Jennifer Green in Madrid 02 July 2003 04:05
Asif Kapadia - The Warrior and Eduard Cortes - Nobody's Life (La Vida De Nadie) are among the ten films to compete at next week's second annual International Film Festival of Guadarrama in Spain (July 12-23).
Only first-time feature directors are eligible to compete at Guadarrama, where jury and public prizes are awarded. Director-producer Eduardo Campoy, current president of the Spanish Producers' Federation, will be the subject of a tribute at the event.
The remaining competition titles, each representing a different country, include:
Paula Hernandez - Herencia (Arg) Luis Manzo - La Pluma Del Arcangel (Ven) Gyorgy Palfi - Hukkle (Hung) Betto Souza and Tabajara Ruas - Neto Perde Sua Alma (Br) Rodrigo Tirana Praga' - Como El Gato Y El Raton (Col) Thomas Gislason - Point Of View (Den) Philippe Stolz - Baby (Ger) Alfredo de Villa - Washington Heights (US)
The international jury includes Spanish director Ricardo Alvarez Solla, journalist Atocha Aguinaga, UK actor Craig Stevenson, Danish screenwriter Anne Hojgaard and US producer Abraham Thompson. ===========================================
