Saw it! Shankar once again prooved that when it comes to song picturization he is the No 1 in India.

Technically this movie is 5 to 10 years ahead of current indian movie. You can compare this against spiderman/dare devil/matrix and say there is nothing new in this compared to English movie, but for indian standard this is 5 years ahead.

The movie is a combination of Chandramukhi and Indian (too confusing! you will realize after watching the movie). I dont want to give complete review/story but here are the + points

1. Vikram - He is the true hero. Climax itself is enough of his acting skills. Very wonderful. Hats off to Vikram.

2. Vivek - Good comedy after long time. He passes the first half pretty much with ease.

3. Song picturization - When the audio came, it wasnt that great. I am sure the audio sale will pick up after people watching the movie. Shankar at his best. At times he reminds me of T Rajendar, who is known for taking such "mega set" songs.

4. BGM - One must appreciate the BGM for this movie. If people had doubts about Shankar-HJ combo, please dont even have second doubt. This is probably the best BGM for shankar movies.

-v Points

1. Since I just watched chandramukhi few weeks earlier, it reminds lot of chandramukhi, specially in second half when the characters are revealed. People started laughing.

2. Few fight scenes, though amazing, are not believable. I remember one saying that except Rajni no one should be allowed to fight with 100 people. Fight scenes shows the technical excellence in the movie, but not realistic.

3. There is NOTHING new in this movie than any of the previous movies.

Verdict: Will run well in A center, but will NOT run in B/C centers. Shankar, better luck next time.

100%. What Vikram did in the climax is something only Sivaji/Kamal can do (or have done that). Now after Sivaji and Kamal we can certainly rank Vikram. After watching this movie, if there is something that reminds you of the movie, it is Vikram's acting in the climax and nothing else.

It sure will not fetch him any award, but definitely another feather in his cap.

I'm glad some of you think Vikram at least stands a chance of comparison with Kamal/Shivaj.

But Shankar admits that Vikram is not a spontaneous actor like Kamal. vikram practices his scenes many times before acting them out. I found this is sify interview of Shankar.

The last scene and the scenes with Nasser and climax scenes with Prakash Raj!

Vivek for once thankfully didn't have a separate comedy track. This is how comedy should be, part of the main flow, not a separate track. i did miss vivek sometimes during the second half. I felt that the audience did too.

I thought that the martial arts center fight was superb.

vikram probably wont win an award for this due to commercial nature of film.

No question about that. After Kamal, there are only 2 stars who can give versatile performance, Vikram and Surya.

What Kamal can probably deliver is different acting for the situation (lot like Illayaraja does for songs), which Vikram will take a while to deliver. Neverthless, Vikram is a great actor and I am glad that he got a break after Sethu!

Saw this today, and it was good. Shankar's films usually start good and turn to crap quickly, but this one started good and stayed good throughout, except for a few quibbles here and there. The comedy is integrated into the story, and so is the romance. The fights are obviously copied from other films, but they're pretty cool anyways.

I was somewhat dissappointed in the song picturizations. They were nice, but nothing stood out as excellent.

Thanks Man - The wish list is only a reminder for the titles I want, it is rumored that criterion "might" release it so I am holding off till someone comes with a good definitive version.

Hi,
In this anniyan movie,Vikram excels in all the areas, romance, humour, emotion, love and even the larger-than life stunt sequences. Heroin is pretty and appealing, but her character has notmuch to do in the second half.Nice movie to watch.
