Looks like Rajat Kapoor & Saurabh Shukla saw Down to Earth on DVD before writing Fatso! This is kind of sad since the collaboration between these two prior to Fatso! have made some interesting stuff.

Personally, I do think Rajat Kapoor's films are a little overrated - he comes across as having an attitude of being too intelligent from Bollywood, but the films of his that I've seen don't display that.
