Hello,

I own a couple of Hindi DVDs where numbers on the inside of the disk around the hole, have been scratched out, and one of my recent rentals also had the numbers scratched out.

Does this automatically indicate a pirate DVD ?

Could possibly indicate a number of things - if someone has done it deliberately then they are hiding the numbers which can be used to trace back to where the DVDs were manufactured. Could be stolen stock or pirated DVDs – only certain way to check is ask the muppets in charge who made the original DVD.
