Wow.. IW has came up with 6 shemaroo dvds that is sold out within 7 hours... this shows that not only the number of skeptics out there is lower than what some of us believe. But that IW is a trusted source for genuine dvds.

It's just the other days when they sold pirate shemaroo dvds like (anarkali, coolie, payal, arzoo, karz, hero, khatta meetha, naya raasta, phool aur patthar, revival series, and many more of our favourites). It's sad for ones like me who didn't get to purchase the dvds and worse is that the enthusiastic IW shoppers didn't even give IW a chance to scan the covers of the dvds for our viewing pleasure.

Shuman, your reply prompted me to check the sale DVD details at IW site. Yes, indeed it says "SAMRAT/ SUPER DIGITAL". The DVD covers at IW site are that of Super Digital.

Well, I already upgraded my order to 4 each (for gifts). I hope I get the SD version.

May be, Samrat has bought the rights from Super Digital?? and used SD authoring. If this is the case, then another interesting point to check will be, whether they used cheap media for this batch and that's why it's selling cheap?? Soon, we will know.
Whatever we get, it definitely will be from a new batch as these titles had been "Out Of Stock" at IW for a long long time.

(BTW, I have both these DVDs from the SD original batch and they are on 100% Gold media like old times). NOT TRUE. SEE MY POST ON Jan 7, 2004 in this thread.

Received my Abhinetri and 54 Songs DVDs from IW today.

Good news and not so good news:

Both DVDs are exactly exactly the same as what I received at the time of their initial release. Cover and disc markings are the same (except for some mirrored letters as if stamped on the opposite side of the disc).

But, both discs are, and were in initial batch too, on Silver Media. In my Dec 10, 2003 post, I had said that my discs from the original batch of 15 months ago were on Gold media, BUT I WAS MISTAKEN. Even the original batch was on Silver Media as I just discovered, when I actually checked.

This prompted me to check the old discs for any playing problems. It still plays fine after 15 months.

Worth checking, if anyone else who has Abhinetri DVD from 2002, if it still plays fine??

P.S.
At the time of Abhinetri original release (Oct-Nov 2002), Arsh had not yet educated us on Gold vs Silver media and hence no one paid attention to Silver media used for these DVDs and everyone praised these DVDs as they had excellent encoding.

It was already 5 each, for gifts. I already had both DVDs from 2002. Definitely a steal for $ 2.99 for such transfers.

Abhinetri still works, indeed, it is not silver silver, is GOLDISH too, with very thick coating, and heavy quality media!!

They have lots of DVDs at $ 1.99

Of those, one title is OFFICER. Seems like same copy that I bought 2 yrs ago. It's Progressive.

Just noticed, over half of IW's Shemaroo titles are under $ 5, with many more for $ 5.99. Only a few are over $ 6.99.
