Just wondering, how come, so many of BEI/DEI DVDs are selling for $ 1.99, $ 2.99 and $ 3.99 at IW??

Is BEI in financial trouble again??

I would be careful of the sales. Last time, I ordered a bunch of DEI dvds as they were on sale. Most of them are on the verge of rotting as they freeze in parts. Makes for a very unpleasant viewing. I can't return them as they are over a year old so now I have a collection of movies that play 3/4ths or in bits and pieces.

Its not just a problem of year old dvds... when returned within 15 days of purchase, the best suppliers still try to avoid responsibility by delaying refunds for months. An obvious strategy to deter customers from returning faulty discs...

But I am not sure if the price of the dvd is the only factor. I don't think asian dvd businesses, have much respect for return policies. Refund seems to be like a dirty word in their dictioniaries...

Guys,
Here's the secret, I bought dvds of
kaho naa pyar hai
Rangeela at $3.99, just two weeks back. when I received my dvds i found that rangeela had freezing problem, then when I played KNPH thrice I noticed it started freezing problem at the end. Also, way back(some 6 months ago), I bought Nastik from them which again had that freezing problem, so What I think is IW is just trying to sell dvds on some cheap media inorder to overcome Nehaflix. Mind it I am not a fan of nhfx nor do I hate IW. but I will be stop to buy any more dvds if the same thing continues.

long long time ago, i bought "umrao jaan $4.99", "hum saath saath hain $7.99", "ghar dwaar $8.99" from [iw]. none of them worked, not even for once. i didn't bother contacting them, as i have had enough of their bullsh*t by then.

mind you, i re-bought "hum saath saath hain" from nx several months later, and til date that doesn't show any sign of rot. i did buy nastik, bees saal baad. nx replaced it twice but same problem. so i gave up on old dei titles. recently i purchased "inkaar", the print and media looks very promising so far.

I also bought "Hum saath saath hain" earlier this month from nehaflix. Its working great, and its gold media too. However, I'm having problems with "hum dil de chuke sanam" which I bought at the same time. I sent it back and asked for a replacement, but I got pretty much the same disc back. I'm guessing VideoSound still holds NA rights and BEI only for UK?

Well I got the DVDs from them and Hera Pheri is not the old DEI release but the new BEI release :D and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa is obviously the BEI and both discs work perfectly! and both DVDs under $10 beat that! Way to go IW !!!!

I ordered few dvds after long time only because of DEI/BEI new dvds. All of the dvds (Hera Pheri-1977, Kaalia, Khatta Meetha, Khel Khel Mein, Parvarish, HSSH and HDDCS) are BEI release and the media is alloy of gold and silver.
I got Kisi Se Na Kehna which is DEI release and it's a gold media.

Browsing through all of the above dvds, I found the colors are dull for Hera Pheri, Kaalia, Khatta Meetha and Khel Khel Mein.

I hope all the dvds with alloy media works after few months/weeks.

Has anyone ordered Amitabh Bachchan's ADALAT lately? I believe IW is continuing to sell their faulty DEI version... What about Nehaflix? Is their the new BEI? Any recent experiences?

The same question applies to NASTIK, PRATIGGYA and MOTHER INDIA.

You would think they would stop selling from a batch that is identified as faulty. Guess most people are lazy and don't bother returning faulty discs, otherwise the refund costs would be so high, making such a practice unworthwhile...

I sure would hope so. I dont think they would want to go thru replacing disc as this will also cost them to resend as well the buyer to return the dvds.

I recently bought "Haseena Maan Jayegi", from the cover i got the bei version. haven't opened or viewed yet. so cannot comment at this moment.

HASEENA MAAN JAYEGI is a winner! New BEI, gold-ish media, excellent print... What more could you want? Nice story too with comedy scenes by Johny Walker. Rafi at his usual best with songs like Chale The Saath Milkar and O Dilber Janiye.
