Quick Annoucement - Kaavalan will be coming to Ayngaran blu-ray in May 2011.

For those not intrested in Regional films...I believe this is now being remade in Bollywood with Salman Khan.

It beats all the recent crap films from Vijay (Sura, Vettikaran, Villu)... and returns him to form (Pokkiri, Ghili).

That´s sounds really cool. I like Vijay but was bored with his last movies.
So count me in on the BD.

I watched the movie on the Opening Day in Chennai (India). Unfortunately, I have to disagree that the movie is any good. Granted the last 30 min. was good, but that was all it was. I had to struggle through most of the movie to get to the good climax. Obviously, tastes differ and to each his/her own. But, I'll probably get the BD anyways, as I am a supporter of the format and I want Ayngaran to keep releasing good Blu-rays and not cite economics as a reason for not doing so..

Anyone saw the original Bodyguard with Dileep and can compare it to Kaavalan?

The original version is the same - just has weaker production values.

I don't understand why recent Malayalam films have to "follow" the same Editing, Music and Machismo - Bullshit style as Tamil/Telugu movies. They were much superior when their production values were subtle. Its like they have taken a step backwards.
