Toslink does not support the big codecs (DTS HD MA, DTHD & Uncompressed PCM), period. It supports only the lossy formats DD and DTS. So even if you select "Uncompressed PCM" in the movie's audio menu, most probably you'll only hear 2 channel audio through Toslink.

My bad didnt realize that S/PDIF protocol pretty much crippled a nice fiber optic link. Basically if you want multichannel uncompressed audio out to an old receiver, your Blu-ray player needs to have analog multichannel out or you are basically screwed.

Just got Raavanan Blu Ray. The special features are not working for me. When I choose Special Features it just takes me back to the main menu. Anyone have any luck with the special features?

Which player are you using?

The disc was tested on Oppo 83, PS3 and on Pioneer BD-ROMs (PC) and it worked fine.

I have a Sony BDP-S360 with the latest software. When I highlight and press Special Features it than says making of raavanan, than I choose that and it goes back to the main menu. To be honest I don't care about the special features. This disc is amazing!

Raavanan and Paiyya both special features are not working in my PS3 40GB, and Sony BDP-S1000ES player
(Special Features menu is coming but when i select any special feature items it is going back to Top Menu Play)
However in my Panasonic DMP-BD35, both Raavanan and Paiyya special features(Interviews) Audio is coming but no video.

Paiyya special feature Testing Utility is fine in PS3 and Sony BDP-1000ES Player.

Both Raavanan and Paiyya PQ/AQ are outstanding. Thanks for the wonderful work Sunny..

Kailashu, any problems with accessing the 'Special features' on the Raavanan blu-ray? I get only the audio with no video, when I try to access the 'Special features' on my Oppo BDP-93. Also, some other member had started a thread regarding 'User Awards' for Indian blu-rays, in another forum on http://www.blu-ray.com My vote for the BEST PQ in a Indian movie on blu-ray, between 2010-2011, was for 'Raavanan' - it was rightly spectacular as you had mentioned earlier.

I believe all our special features are done in PAL. Which is why many people outside of UK and India are having trouble accessing it.

Since the original source is PAL, we use the PAL encode format.
