That is wierd to say the least, if anything one would think the subtitles might have been forced during the movie. Although, forcing subtitles in songs or otherwise is simply retarded.

How about the audio/video quality? How does it compare to the T-Series blu-ray?

+1

The SS looks bit soft and seems to have a wrong hue.

The forced subs are annoying. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to play this movie on my BD player. I have a Region A BD Player and this BD is locked to Region B. I was hoping they'd screw up the region locking like they did with K3G. I will need to rip this BD put it on a media player and watch it. I haven't watched the T-Series BD yet, so I can't really comment.

the forced subs are not unusual. The German BD of Jodhaa Akbar, which otherwise looks to be the same as the french BD, has forced subs during songs too.

also those screenshots look reasonably good to me, grain presence is welcome and detail levels seem decent.

What matters is how much difference does it make to the T Series BD. I am all in to double dip if at all it looks any different which I highly doubt based on SS. There was though a significant difference between REM DVD and Tseries DVD but BDs are looking 99 % identical meaning they would have used the same source.

Is there a way to remove forced subs if theya re not burt-in without using PC drive and copying?

I am guessing they do it because songs cannot be german Dubbed? As i recall even K3G REM has the same feature. for german audience that makes sense but my concern is when we are listening to Hindi Audio, REM could have got rid of forced subs.

Sorry for the confusion guys. The German subs are forced during songs when you are listening to the German (dubbed) audio.

Haa.. now that makes sense. Aise hi, 'khali peeli' stress le rahe the hum.

PS: I still feel it's wrong to "force" the sub-titles. Being on by default, I understand, but not the part of not having the option to turn them off.

sanjay,

In europe, at least for english films, it's some sort of rights issue. Many French BDs have forced subs because local studios have the home video rights in France but overseas they're held by Warner, Universal etc.

It is mighty annoying but seems to be prevalent in the Europe BD market.
