Looks like another one bites the dust in the fight with 'DNR'.

It is not just this title, of late every single BHV blu-ray, ie. '3 Idiots', 'Dabangg' & 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai', seems to have majorly suffered from the same DNR issues at source. Such a shame, considering that the same company that has distributed this movie worldwide and which is responsible for this pathetic blu-ray disc, also owns 'Lowry Digital'. 'Lowry Digital' for those who may not know, is one of the premier, digital image processing companies in the world. It is the same company that has restored Casablanca, Doctor Zhivago & The Godfather I & II amongst many other films. They are also the one's that worked on 'Avatar' to standardize the look across the various formats the movie was shot in, which included film, digital and CGI.

Since the screenshots for K3G, KKHH and KHNH turned out to be DNRed by the poster at Blu-ray.com and the BDs themselves are actually fine, perhaps the Kites BDs are not as bad as these shots indicate either?

Having viewed the blu-ray myself, I assure you that is not the case and the blu-ray is as bad as the screenshots, if not worse.

Looks like there is another version out, this time by Image Entertainment.

http://www.amazon.com/Kites-Blu-ray-Hrithik-Roshan/dp/B0046ZYETI/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1297781626&sr=1-1

Any idea if it's authored from the same source?

If you go to Image Entertainment's website at

http://www.image-entertainment.com/default.asp

In the search box type in Kites it will return the Blu-Ray, and the DVD.

(The copying of the direct URL did not work out for posting).

Not sure if the transfer is the same as Reliance.

Kites: Remix version seems to have two different sources of the movie on the same disc. English differs from the Hindi version. I haven't quite figured out how to take bluray screenshots otherwise I would have posted. Can anyone guide me?
