take it easy guys :-)
zulm mods got the breaking news ("to be among the first to break the news online") from excel for the peepli live dvd and blu-ray, and not for the first time (there have been instances like this courtesy excel in the past). let's take the positives forward :-)
excel have also posted news abt this to other fans (outside zulm)

The problem is not with reporting the news on other sites, but rather one of plagiarism by simply cutting & pasting someone else's post and then even worse making it seem like their own.

Mods - going off topic slightly, should this topic be merged with the other one (or should the other one be deleted with a lack of any useful information)?

In what is another first for bollywood blu-rays, Excel Home video is releasing Peepli [Live] in a 2 Disc - Blu-ray + DVD.
Personally I think this ought to be the norm, considering the prices of bollywood blu-rays.

That does not seem right. Was that the original aspect ratio for theatrical release? As per the information received by me earlier the aspect ratio for the blu-ray (main feature) is '2.35:1'

peepli [live] was shot in 1.85:1. as such, BD in 1.85:1 should be good news for the purists :-)

Thanks. It's a relief to know that 1.85:1 is the original aspect ratio.

The Peepli [Live] BD release has been delayed to November 16th. Although attempts are on to try and get the BDs to retail outlets by November 12th. The DVD is still scheduled for a Diwali (November 5th) release. As much as Excel tried to ensure a a simultaneous release, unfortunately due to uncontrollable factors the blu-ray has been delayed.

Hmm... Interesting. For Hollywood BDs, Sometimes 1.85 which is original AR for theatres is re-formatted and changed to 1.78 with the sole purpose that 1.78 fits the 16:9 Screen perfectly(Toy Story and Madagaskar BDs). In actual 1.85 if transferred as it is still leaves tiny black bars on top and Bottom. (Up in the air/Saving Private Ryan BDs). Hence I am curious what the author would have done with Peepli LIVE.

I believe Excel will be retaining the original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 with the very small black bars on top & bottom and will not be reformatting to fill the 16:9 (1.78:1) blu-ray frame.

In future please desist from such posts. No one is really interested in emails that you receive, ie. unless there is some relevant and new information provided. This post of yours provides absolutely no new information to this thread. By the way, the email you received is the same that many others have received and is actually a standard email sent out by Excel every week.
