Currently there are no reviews and screen shots available for majority of the released Blu-ray titles. I will update the post with links to threads which have screen shots over the coming days. Do let me know if I have missed any titles and I will add them to the first post.

For someone like me who is not familiar with regional films, it would be nice if someone could atleast provide basic ratings for the movie and the blu-rays if not a detailed review.

Its been really ages since I have seen the Blu-ray and I dont have it any more as I had rented them. Please remember these are my personal opinion and are not detailed like your reviews. I will give two ratings - movie and video. I am not rating the audio as my audio system is not good and it would be unfair. All these ratings are based on 32" Sony KDL 32 XBR9 LCD TV.

  1. Arundathi
    • Movie - 3.0/5.0
    • Video - 3.75/5.0 - There were some minor issues with video. Subtitles were not in sync for second half of the movie.
  2. Kanthaswamy
    • Movie - 3.0/5.0
    • Video - 4.0/5.0
  3. King
    • Movie - 3.0/5.0
    • Video - 3.0/5.0 - This was more like half baked Blu-ray release. I believe more effort could have been put in with regards to the Blu-ray
  4. Sivaji
    • Movie - 3.0/5.0
    • Video - 4.75/5.0 - The best Blu-ray that I have seen till date.

Updated with newer releases

Paiyaa (Ayngaran)
  • Movie - 2.5/5.0 - I really didnt like the story as much. The songs tend to grow into you.
  • Video - 4.5/5.0 - Another great product from Ayngaran, kudos to Sunny for maintaining the quality output as always. I really loved the PQ of this movie.

AP International are not part of Ayngaran.

AP International are copyright owners of some Tamil films such as Paaiya, Unnai Pol Oruvran, Chandramukhi etc.... Ayngaran simply distribute these titles for them.

It is similar to the way Hollywood works.
