Here are preview screenshots of Singam. These were made directly from 2K DPX files. Colour correction is director approved, and film grain elements are retained.
There were some issues with the DPX files - such as poor camerawork (out of focus), weak CGI, and DNR applied during post production.

However these are all production errors and should not to be associated with the actual blu-ray encoding. We've only replicated what the original DPX files were like.

This should be out late september.

Wow! If only Hidni movie blu-rays could look as good as this.

Looks great. I will be getting this when it comes out next month. Sunny, Could you please update us on the status of Raavanan (Tamil) and Kondukondein and Kondukondein blu-ray? I did not even watch the Raavanan movie yet, I am waiting for blu-ray to watch that movie for first time. I am not sure how long I can hold off on that :D

Sunny..you are THE one constant in the otherwise everchanging world of Indian movie blu-rays, which is always filled with surprises (usually nasty, rather than good). Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being our beacon of hope. Looks excellent as always!

I am seeing the same issue here what I saw in the Angadi Theru SS. - Boosted Contrast

Look at the white shirts or objects (the notice on the cabinet as well) - detail on such objects are lost. It is like someone photographed the scene with wrong metering and exposure.

Can't say I agree. What I see is well within the limits of reasonable color grading choices.

I see some of these shots short of my expectation w.r.t contrast range. The gradation of white shades are not distinct.

In the car shot, it appears like someone has fitted a high powered fluorescent tube inside making the shirt appear whiter than what it should be. The scene with the police officer, the background detail with the building and other things are lost. Even look at the stars on his shoulder and his left collar ..they appear more brighter than they should be due to boost in contrast.

As you said, it could be within tolerance or limits of color grading , but this isn't looking good to me.

However, if it was how the director intended....then it is what it is....

Just a question, was the source used for the DVD same as the Blu-ray. DVD has a few authoring issues, I hope those are something not present on the source.
