WARNING: Disc does not play on the Playstation 3 '80GB CECHE01 NTSC' with firmware v3.21, v3.30 and v3.40. It gets stuck after the 'DTH-HD MA' promo. The issues with the PS3 have now been confirmed by three other people, who all have different PS3 models. Now there are reports of this Blu-ray not working on the stand alone Sony player BDP S 350 also. Exactly the same problem as the PS3. Which suggest that this may be a Sony specific problem and thus all those with Sony players beware.

Title: Wake Up Sid

Subtitles: <-- 2.35:1 Screen Friendly (Positioned at the bottom of the picture area)
English
Special Features:
NONE

Special Mention:
No Watermark Logo, during songs or otherwise.<-- All Bollywood Video companies, please take note.
No scrolling advertisements during songs or otherwise. <-- All Bollywood Video companies, please take note.
No advertisements, forced or otherwise, during the movie. <-- All Bollywood Video companies, please take note.
Separate 'Song Menu' to allow direct selection of song. <-- This should be a no brainer for all Bollywood films.

Authoring issues:
1. Pop-up Menus don't close on their own and stay up forever, until either you make a selection or use the button on the remote to close the menu. The 'pop-up' menu should automatically close after a specified time (10-15 seconds) of inactivity.
2. There is no option to go to the 'Main' menu from the 'pop-up' menu.
3. There is an option to 'Play movie' in the 'pop-up' menu. What is the purpose of this? For, if you are accessing the 'pop-up' menu, that means the movie is already playing. :?
4. There is no chapter/title information displayed when played on a PS3. Even on the Oppo BDP-83 player, the title number of the title playing does not display. This seems to be a problem with all BDs authored by Digital Entertainment.
5. The left/right/enter keys on the PS3 'remote' do not function as rewind/forward/pause buttons, like they do with all other BDs/DVDs. This too is a problem with all BDs authored by Digital Entertainment.
6. No option to 'Play All' songs. This is not really a screw up, but nevertheless it is something that ought to be an option on all Indian Blu-rays.

Review:
Highly Recommended with a WARNING: Disc does not play on the Playstation 3 '80GB CECHE01 NTSC' with firmware v3.21, v3.30 and v3.40. It gets stuck after the 'DTH-HD MA' promo. Did you sit through the entire film Sanju? :D saw ur rating of 4.25/5. I lost my patience, finding it too slow, and just too familiar.

Yep. I have seen the film twice. First in the theater and then on Blu-ray. Will probably see it again to finish up the 'details' part of the review.

WARNING: Disc does not play on the 'PS3' (80GB US 'Region A' with firmware v3.40). It gets stuck after the 'DTH-HD MA' promo

Considering that the UTV version is authored by the same company and is identical to this version, it might be safe to assume that the UTV version will have similiar problems on the PS3.

I have tried the disc with firmware v3.21, v3.30 and v3.40, all with the same results, ie. the disc gets stuck after the 'DTH-HD MA' promo. Since I have no problem in playing many other discs that I tried, or for that matter even Bhagam Bhag from the same authoring company, I doubt if the problem is my PS3.

PS: In case anyone is affected by this, please accept my apologies for not reporting this sooner.

Heard someone mention it was done in UK. I am not 100% on this, but the fact that it has 'Special Features/Extras' is a sure indicator that it is not done by Digital Entertainment (Mr. Chandna) as is being assumed by many.

The issues with the PS3 have now been confirmed by three other people, who all have different PS3 models.

Now there are also reports of this Blu-ray not working on the stand alone Sony player BDP S350.

Nope. Atleast the BHV version does not work on the stand alone Sony player BDP S 350. Exactly same problem as the PS3. maybe a sony specific problem

I suggest that atleast, all those with Sony players be wary of this title.

PS: Everyone keep in mind that the 'UTV' and the 'BIG Home Video' versions are identically encoded and authored.
