maybe some of the old timers can answer this......

in terms of the color saturation differences between Kabhi Kabhi and Silsila - which one is more accurate representation of the original theatrical releases?

Does Kabhie Kabhie also have logos at the begining of each song?

No idea, but Kabhi looks as if blacks are crushed and the picture too dark, colors too saturated, and Silsila the opposite.

Indeed. Do these people not know how to calibrate monitors or read video scopes?

Hi

I have received my eagerly awaited copy of Kabhi Kabhie, and i wasnt dissapointed.
The transfer was better than any DVD of the film i watched. I am no expert at blu ray authoring, but i felt the colours were beautiful, and the depth, especially in the snow scenes were amazing.

I was greatful for a DTS-HD Master audio track, but there was alot of crackling on the track, even the dolby 5.1 wasnt saved from that. I guess the vintage source could have been more cleaned.

I watched the entire movie and really enjoyed (Again)...

PQ: 4/5
AQ: 3/5

Overal Quality of the the movie: 3.5/5

:)

Personally, I don't think the screenshots shown here are truelly reflective of the actual quality of the Kabhi Kabhie BD. In actual the BD looks much better than the screenshots an the reddish tint is also not as pronounced as they are in the screenshots. As for the accuracy of the BD, vis a vis the theatrical release, I don't think anyone of us here can actually remember from what we saw in the theaters 33 yrs ago. :)
The Silsila BD in my opinion is just too crappy to even bother with.

Yes, unfortunately it does. In fact, all 'eleven' of the Yash Raj titles released on BD so far, except for the 'Fanaa' BD, have the logo watermark at the begining of each song.
