in e-mail to SaReGaMa, I just wrote:
Dear SaReGaMa dvd div,
We (dvd enthusiasts) are quite tolerant of your incorrect information on cases, the in-house-imposed cuts in DVDs (over and above CBFC ratings), though this has happened again and again with SaReGaMa.
One is always afraid when buying a SaReGaMa dvd -- would it have all the extras promised on the cover? would it run as long as the runtime printed on the case? would it really be PAL as mentioned (or NTSC as mentioned) on the case? would it really have all the language options promised on the case? would it have the correct aspect ratio? would it have all the subtitles promised? would it really be coded for the regions mentioned on the case? would it really be at least as uncut as in the theatres.
More than 8 times out of 10, SaReGaMa dvds are a disappointment in these aspects -- making mincemeat of the product and fools of fans.
But still, one is always thinking - okay the dvd scene in India is new -- perhaps SaReGaMa will improve one day.
But what you've done on the Jurassic Park trilogy dvd box set dashes all such hopes. The amazing feat you've performed really takes the cake. What you've done is something that is unique, first of its kind in dvd history, and you really deserve some kind of award for it. I hope you know of the Razzies. Please get ready for the applause.
You've put PAL and NTSC dvds in the same set!!!
In the box, the first movie (Jurassic Park) is an NTSC dvd, and the other two movies are PAL dvds!!!
What a bunch of jokers and scamsters you are... we ought to drag you to consumer court.
Sad! Very sad!!
Happy Deepawali all the same. May the festival bring some light into the dark world of SaReGaMa dvds.
