I've just seen on Star News that Mukta Arts have sold the rights for the next five years to Sony. I'm not sure whether this is just for the music, or whether it's for the actual movies.Maybe someone else can clarify the story?

well i know the head of sony entertainment India commented soon after dumping the rights to K3G and Asoka they would not be looking to purchase overseas rights of movies....They will however carry on producing movies like Pyar mein mein kabhi kabhi

Another interesting devolopment in recent days is that Blue elephant music who were distributing Sonys indian music titles in the UK have gone bust, Leaving the current hot selling music of Kyaa dil ne kahaa which incidentally relased in India over a week ago witout a release in the UK. I expect Sony music india to make a similar stunt like Sirroco and Sa re ga ma who have moved production to India to cut costs...

Lets all hope the dvds of Lagaan and Misiion Kashmir make sony huge profits which would tempt them to make further purchases of upcoming films
