Does the Distributor BEI (Bollywood Entertainment Inc) have an official website?

There is only some sketchy address and phone number listed on the back on my DVD.

Both the telephone number (910-850-0300) and fax number listed on the back case of my DVD are no longer in service. :(

I think they used to: http://www.DVDWorld.com. The site no longer works, though; it hasn't for some time...

There is no reason to doubt what Hardev posted that BEI has been sold.

Recall, as per Hardev's earlier posts, he was the BEI rep in India.

Well that blows. I thought BEI was the leading brand when it came to Indian DVDs in terms of quality. Now which distributor can claim that title? EROS? YashRaj??

Indian DVDs: Aynghran (Yes it's Indian DVDs, not Hindi though. )

And perhaps, also the company that bought BEI. As Hardev said, it'll still be the same BEI quality.

And yes, some well authored (Progressive, anamorphic, DD true 5.1) have been appearing recently from UTV etc. EROS, YRF are better than Rainbow, Viva, etc but still most of their new releases are PAL to NTSC converted Field Averaged and some Pseudo-Prog with chroma lag problem. YRF occasinally comes up with Progressive DVDs and EROS, almost never.

BTW, I did pick up BEI Nanha Farishta Yesterday. Didn't know BEI released it . Must be a new release. Could it be a new release under new ownership ??

BTW, BEI # on the cover is area code 901 and not 910 as you noted in your post. Ph # on cover: 901-850-0300

Whoops, my bad. I did dial the right number though, and it's out of service. Anyone have the contact details for Samrat, the company that supposedly bought BEI?

I don't know which one is the latest ph # and if it's active at all, but here are a few ph #s on BEI DVDs that I picked up last week:

Nanha Farishta & Vishwas covers: 901-850-0300
Yeh Mohabbat Hai cover: 916-921-2830
Raaj Tilak cover: 510-670-0270

Thanks rana. I'll give them all a try today.

After seeing a surprisingly crisp transfer on the Har Har Mahadev disc, I was hoping I could request BEI to give the same treatment to a couple of other mythological titles from the 70s which deserve digital archiving.

On BEI? Which ones? The only two I know of are Har Har Mahadev and Bajrangbali.
