As far as I know the EROS DVD is the only one which offers the unabridged movie. The version of the SPARK etc. discs lacks the fight between Birja and Shankar at the end of the movie.
I go on waiting for a really good Koyla DVD.

The Eros disc is - in my opinion - the best we can get untill now, but still far from good.
The picture is not cropped, the film is uncut and the master is not as damaged as that one used for the Spark/Videosound disc. But that’s all. The picture quality is really awful, and so is the sound.

Check this link out:
viewtopic.php?t=6810&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

SD KOYLA makes it to the category of DEI HDDCS, Metrodome ASOKA etc.

At least one version was Progressive, and true DD 5.1. Don't think it was anamorphic though.

But in general the ones that have been good (of recent movies not DEI classics) that I can recall are (in order):

Asoka - Metrodome R2
Mission Kashmir - CT
Fiza - Spark/DEI (not VideoSound)
Lagaan - CT
HDDCS - DEI
Jung - DEI
KNPH - DEI
K3G - YRF
Koyla - SuperDigital

Some average ones:
Meenaxi - YRF
Saathiya - YRF
DCH - Spark (only if the disc didn't rot)
16 December - Cinebella
KHNH - YRF (the extra features are nice and the sound is good, but below avg PQ)
Mohabbatein - YRF
DDLJ - YRF (best version of film, though still crap)

Some hinglish ones if you're interested:
The Guru - Universal (great PQ with DTS)
Bend it Like Beckham - Fox
Monsoon Wedding - Universal (though not anamorphic)

.

Sound on Moserbaer is crap. It is mono panned to 5.1 channels just like many other MB DVDs. Koyla is best sounding on Super digital version with fulll 5.1 kick ass surround, so sad the version is minus one action scene and cropped 1.85 AR. Koyla is one of the first bollywood movies to be made in DTS and so deserves some respectable sound on DVD.

The only reason MB version is still likable is as is stated above, is that it is the unabridged version, complete widescreen tough letterbox ony and most pleasing colours.
