Last batch of screen shots sent by Arsh - from the original Super Digital Koyla - progressive and proper 5.1 audio – very rare and hard to get hold of!

Is this version single layer or dual layer??

If this prog. DVD is dual layer, it will definitely be better than the interlaced DVD.

If this prog DVD is single layer, it will be nice to see a screen shot comprison with the dual layer interlaced DVD.

Thanks.

I don't think so.

SD versions if avail are at a premium (IW doesn't carry them as told by Afzal). IW version definitely is the official VS version with subtitles and hence interlaced.

Koyla by Super Digital was the first Hindi DVD with 5.1 sound and it is still one of the best sounding Hindi DVDs to date. The DVD is a must own for just it's excellent 5.1 sound specially due to the excellent songs and background score in the film. Although I feel the sound is a little too bright. By the way the film was also not as bad as it's box office performance might indicate. The only dissapointing thing about this DVD is that the excellent cinematography and locales of the film are marred by an incorrect aspect ratio and a pretty scratched print.

Nope they are not. Super Digital is just an authoring company, whereas Video Sound is the distributor and rights holder of the film.

And their subsequent batches, including the subtitled ones, are normally not done by Super Digital. They go to the cheapest source or may be they (Video Sound) have their own replicating plants.

thing is i got loadsa Super Digital titles, the ones that are in 2ch like Dulhe Raja, Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya, Judaai, Deewana Mastana and Raja Babu.. I never really bought Koyla because i wasnt prepared to pay £25 for a SRK flick... anyway i presumed that Super Digital just automatically changed into Video sound after a while.. maybe im wrong.. but i might buy Koyla Video Sound.. its only £4 or so!! :D

This version is shorter the only scene that you can clearly tell it is cut is when Madhuri is in the village and is being soaked by water and Shak Rukh Khan returns with his voice ... there is a scene there where all of a sudden the baddies are at his swords end beaten up. Check it out thats all I can remember...
