PLOT DESCRIPTION
Liberally sprinkled with dashes of humor, this is a fast-paced comedy about a family and their friends who lived through the transition of Goa from a Portuguese colony to a district governed by India. Ana (Sushma Prakash) is about to become engaged (unwillingly) to the unappealing Erasmo when her beloved grandfather suddenly dies. Her grandmother is so overwhelmed by grief that Ana's engagement is put on hold indefinitely (along with everything else) while granny tries to contact the spirit of her dead husband. But her wires get crossed each time and instead of grandpa, she brings forth ghosts of people the family has wronged in the past. These and other events are revealed in flashbacks as a former resident in the house returns to visit 25 years later

Thanks for the screen JamesBond007, copied them over.

I used to have some of the other Shyam Benegal DVDs released by Video Sound, but once I got round to watching them none of them worked as they had rotted away within months of buying them :x This included DVDs of Ankur (1974), Nishaant (1975), Bhumika (1977) and Mandi (1983). The only one I managed to watch was Hari-Bhari (2000) - one viewing only! - after which that too self destructed  There's also a preview of Trikal (1985) on the old zulm site.

Don't know if I should rejoice at my good fortune or Laugh at your misfortune. I have had all those you mentioned except for Mandi for years now, just spot checked them and all seems to be working fine!:D I decided to watch Trikal again , and as I enjoyed it so much I thought of sharing some SS here!

Man o Man... what a beauty Sushma Prakash is... In fact, she used to be the heart throb of moi Band-of-Brothers... Very natural actress... The starcast in this movie is avant grade.

Maqsood Mehmood Ali a.k.a Lucky Ali in one of his very early film roles. Along with Anita Kanwar and Dilip Tahil, fresh from their success in the TV epic Buniyaad...
