Okay here you go:

Faddy Bhai's Review of WEG Agneepath

Agneepath DVD - WEG v/s Eros

Quoted from the second link above:

ali wrote:
WEG is better of two evils - not only for the AB's stronger, deeper voice but also contains the uncut film and the original soundtrack for Agneepath. The Eros DVD version of the film was edited for violence, softened AB’s voice and replaced the original soundtrack with the music from Scarface :bangbang:

Its amazing what a simple Search can help you find huh? :P

I'd have to say that, yes, the WEG version is "preferable," but, it's not (by any means) "good." It features a stronger, bass-driven audio track, and you get Amitabh Bachchan's "raspy" voice (which is a hugely positive aspect of the film). Though the music difference is noticeable only seldom, I agree that it's better (sans-Scarface), too, on the WEG one. That said, the image quality is certainly superior with the Eros version. That's not to say that Eros has pulled brilliance out of its hat full of shit, but just that it's done better than WEG. Honestly, I'd say, get them both; after all, it's the greatest film ever made.

I own the WEG version, as well as the Eros: the picture is better on the latter, as is the sound, but — "worse" or not — I prefer WEG's more bass-driven audio. Of course, WEG also has the advantage of having Amitabh Bachchan's original "raspy" voice. Neither version is presented in the film's original aspect-ratio and neither has any special features. Overall, they're both bad, but WEG's is (in my opinion) ever-so-slightly preferable.

Can anybody tell me the difference in the Agneepath DVDs. I have the WEG DVD where he is standing on the water and on the boat. I also have the ultra VCD which had has his normal voice which has better music than the DVD where is he on the boat and water. Now also there is the DVD where it has Madhavi on the left and Amitabh in blue suit on the right. Now does this DVD resemble the VCD releases by Ultra with his normal voice? I'm willing to trade my DVD where he is on the water and boat to someone with the other one.

AgneePatel, maybe you could post a cover-shot of the releases you're talking about. The song playing during the boat sequence — on both the WEG DVD and the Eros DVD — is "yakkay yakkay."

Well is the Eros one the one with his regular voice and Scarface theme music.

I already have the WEG DVD where he is standing on the boat and water and in that one it uses his rasped voice but the music on this DVD isn't as great.

Eros=re-dubbed "regular" voice; WEG=original "raspy" voice. Eros=better picture and slightly clearer, but less bass-driven, sound.

I think this was the best thread to put these screen shots in since it contained the links for the other threads.

Agneepath - Released by: TTE

This DVD was ordered online (Ebay) from a german seller who didnt know english but we somehow managed to pull the transaction through. I had to use online german to english translation a lot :p

* 2hrs 45mins
* Amitabh Voice similar to Eros DVD
* Interlaced, picture quality still looks good
* Audio havent checked on my system but says 5.1, I highly doubt its good 5.1
