i've seen this movie ages ago and i am also looking for this movie on DVD.. hopefully Bollywood Entertainment would author this movie. The movie is starring Raj Kapoor, Sanjay Khan, Zeenat Amar, Danny. sanjeev kumar?, parveen babi? this movie would be the only movie where raj kapoor has starred in a muslim role.

I have not seen too many movies of Sanjay Khan being released on dvd. I wonder if he has bought the rights to them.
He and his brother (Feroz Khan) used to meake some entertaining films.

Abdullah was a decent movie. I wonder, if its DVD is avail??

IW has:
MELA by Spark
and
UPAASANA (Aao Tumhein Mein Pyar Sikha Dun, Sikhla Do Naa) by Asian.

Other notable Sanjay Khan movies that I can think of are:
Ek Phool Do Maali
and
Intaquaam.

I Think Sanjay Khan's last worthwhile film was.. Kaala Dhanda Gore Log . Those days (mind 1980's), an Indian Film gossip Mag.. (Showtime) used to give out the story in the magazine..along with a few snippets...

After that I dont think he ventured into television serials .. (The sword of Tipu Sultan being one of them)

Yes, it must be Mela.

If I am not mistaken about the film, Story line goes like this:

Feroz and Sanjay Khan's family is cheated of their farmland in their childhood by Kanhaiyya Lal. Feroz Khan ends up as furious Dacoit and forces the cheater into isolation and extreme poverty. Adult Sanjay buy's that land that no body dared to touch because of Feroz Khan. First thing extremely hungry and destitute Kanhaiyya Lal does is, order lots of food in a Dhaaba, from the cash he received from the sale of land. He was so hungry that he dies of shock as he looks at the food.

Feroz Khan doesn't know of his brother's ID.

Rest you can imagine.

Now I think of it, the story line resembles Gunga Jumna.

Mumtaz is paired with Sanjay Khan. I think, this is where it differes from Gunga Jamuna. Also, none of the brothers is a police man here. I'm describing from whatever little I remember from many years ago. I might have its VHS. will check.

Shocking, but still no ABDULLAH in the market! Sometime wonder on what basis they release old films onto DVD?

abdullah has been released on DVD by Music India.

havent seen it myself but been told that its a poor VHS-like copy.

not surprising, considering that music india's dvd's of AMAR AKBAR ANTHONY, SHOLAY, SHAAN, JULIE, SHALIMAR, SAAGAR, JAANI DUSHMAN are all terrible.

a shop down my end has it for £14.99
