Let's name the best, audio-video quality wise only, Indian DVDs. This includes Non-Hindi films but please keep different language DVDs in different paragraphs.
Must ignore Excessive DVNR and time bomb medias as in that case there won't be any to name.
Please, only those 2005 DVDs that will rate 10/10 for audio video quality (ignore packaging design), in your opinion.
(Ask as many questions about quality, but please don't question individual judgement. Criteria is, "10/10 in your opinion".)
Not every one has seen all the DVDs, so hopefully in the end, we'll get names of all the good quality Indan DVDs released in 2005.
Hindi/ Hindustani/ Urdu:
Parineeta (YTV)
Kaal (YRF)
Mera Saaya (BEI)
Junglee (BEI)
Narsimha (BEI)
Professor (BEI)
Sohni Mahiwal (BEI)
Kal Ho Na Ho (French PAL release)
---------------------------
I have named only those DVDs that were properly done (except for excessive DVNR) meaning:
-anamorphic enhancement if widescreen.
-4:3 if film was not widescreen.
-NO PAL to NTSC, NTSC to PAL, Pseudo-Progressive or 25 to 60 conversion.
-No Field Averaging.
-No fake 5.1 audio (OK to be DD 2.0 mono for mono/ stereo films and DD 5.1 or DTS for 5.1 films).
----------------------------
SHOLAY:
Not sure whether to count French release SHOLAY as mono original sound track or multichannel soundtrack as the DVD is made from film that had only nono audio track. Cosidering Fr SHOLAY mono, it will be in my best list but considering SHOLAY to be multi track audio, it won't.
HANUMAN:
Can't make up my mind whether to include Hanuman. It's Pseudo-Progressive, but being a cartoon, it has less than half the film frames that have movement. So, most frames are progressive like. Cosidering it Progressive, this DVD too will be in my list.
