I believe that it is a gold dual-layered disc, isn't it?

OMG!
I just received my Shemaroo version today, and was watching the movie, and I saw a post on this Thread.

Any word on the quality? Is it good?

Does Netflix use DVD masters for streaming? Or do they receive new masters from the owners?

I'm confused - a few months ago you were commenting on how crap the Shemaroo version is, and now you've bought it despite wanting Shemaroo to die!??!

Screenshots from the Netflix stream below - the aspect ratio doesn't change throughout the film, it looks a little different in the screenshots as I've had to print screen, and then crop the image accordingly:

Yeah. Because it was the only alternative available. The Shemaroo disc is soft and dull, but looks better on my system, than what the shots show.

The biggest issue is the watermarked logo. Rest everything is satisfactory. The weak colors and the logo were the reasons why I wanted shemaroo to die.

Doesn't look like a true HD mastering to me. But certainly, the colors, etc. are better than shemaroo.

Have any other old movies been shown on Netflix? I can't watch it here in India.

:x

That copy, I've bought for gifting a relative. I just opened it and saved screenshots. Since I've heard that the audio is better than the DEi Eros version, I wanted to back the disc up.

I have a DVDRip of the DEi version which I'm satisfied with. I realized that the audio on Shemaroo is inferior. So I didn't create a copy. Its now with my aunt.

Also, the seller claimed that its an early edition. So I'd expected it to be free of the watermarked logo.

And that makes me "irritating", doesn't it? :stupid:

Also, accept the fact that I was not as technically versed that time, than I am now. So I blindly took DEi's side those days. I now have realized what flaws DEi DVDs have and they shouldn't be used as a benchmark.

Shemaroo is recommendable for having the fuller aspect ratio. Otherwise, its a crap DVD. It sure is better than their Shool, HDDCS, Taal, Parades, etc. But still not up to the mark.
