Arsh, you said, "Surely, I will, very very soon" in reply to this post.
I wish you or any one else is not in a position to reply (finding freezing) to this for a few years, instead.

BEI says, they have changed the disc media and we should not experience these problems from now on.

and if they changed the media is it to gold and would they exchange all faulty discs ???

What I implied, that when, I have disc available, I can let you know what happens, and ofcourse, that does not include longterm results...I should not be responsible for that.. :baaa:

What I meant was that I wish and hope that this Songs DVD (and others too) from BEI, does not develop disc rot or any other problems.

For your second line, it was one of our zulmi coleague who spoke with BEI who said that the have changed the media and it is good now. I have no idea, if it is Gold or Siver. If you believe BEI that media is good, then it must be Gold or some tinch of Gold as opposed to Silver. (BTW, BEI showed their willingness to exchange faulty discs??)
As I have mentioned earlier, I have experienced freezing problems in all the Silver Media discs. No exceptions. BTW, I met one of my cousins who is an expert in Gold and Jewellery, by education as well as family business heir. I started disussing with him, this Gold and Silver disc topic. I showed him some dark gold discs, some light gold discs and some silver discs. He said, Silver tarnishes very fast; Gold tinch may be Gold content in Silver to make it rot proof or it can be a polish to overcome problems associated with Silver tarnishing . Obviously, more the Gold content, the darker is the Gold color and better protection against disc rot.
He also suggested trying some siver tarnish removing cleaning clothes or sponges ( avail from jewellery stores), on rotted discs. But, I have no idea, if it works and specially if it'll work on a dual layer disc?? Worth trying.

There is another major issue with DEI DVDs, forced menus and commercials with disabling of all control buttons. So what I am interested in knowing is whether BEI is continuing with this or have they finally come to their senses. Because if not, then I personally refuse to buy any BEI discs just as I had stopped buying DEI.

well what type of movies do you like? new ones? i dont think BEI can even afford proper media let alone rights to new movies..
