I got this this from bdbazaar.com and the following is snapshots of Devi from that Box-set. The quality is not good ( as expected) but its not bad either - def watchable and probably the cheapest way to see the film ( 6.5 $ shipped ) . The movie itself is the beautiful and terrifying - often called the most "Hindu" film by satyajit ray - a must for any fan of cinema. Another criterion worthy release that will never happen .























I have about 10 more of his movies to go through so watch out for snapshots of his other films. i also snagged a copy of Ajantrik (Ritwik Ghatak) and Interview (Mrinal Sen) , i will post the snapshots soon.

I'll hang onto the Columbia Tristar tapes of the Ray films until some good DVDs are released. I may buy selected titles from bdbazar of the ones I haven't seen.

These are films that deserve DVD distribution by Criterion or Image or Kino or someone who will give us at least watchable transfers.

I wish I owned them , they are now OOP (I think) , you can find them but they are expensive . There were rumors last year that Devi will be released by Artificial Eye in R2 , somehow that called stalled - hopefully it comes through soon.
