I was trying to look out for the DVD. I couldn't find any screenshots anywhere on this site.
Could anyone post some screenshots if possible. how is the PQ and sound.
Thanks.

also how does the shemaroo version fair in comparison to the DEI version.

thanks U.L,

screenshots look really good, the pq definitely grabs your attention. what do u say!!!

Is there also a shemaroo version.... have u seen that one, which one would you weigh as being a better dvd. My brother is going to india soon, so I was deciding which one would be a better deal.

out of curiousity, the menu screenshots that you posted are different from what my friend has. He told me that his has a DEI logo revolving while the main menu is playing, but the rest looks same. Is the EROS version available now using the same transfer used for the DEI version.
Thanks.

Sorry dont know about the Shemaroo version and its quality. For me this quality is excellent and I wouldnt bother with another version if it came out.

Sound quality......sorry I dont have a proper sound setup so cant properly comment if Arsh, Ali or anyone else has this disc please comment.

The menu is that of the early days of when DEI was producing for ERO$ and used static menus. After the break up with ERO$ they were still producing the DVDs like izzy said. They were many discs that were re-done with better menus and some that were double sided (movie split in half, half on one side and other half on the other side) were also re-done as a single sided disc with better menus. Some examples:

Border (double sided)
Major Saab (double sided)
Pardes (double sided)
Dil Se (beginning credits were cut and subtitles started before the movie actually started)
Khalnayak
Hum Aapke Hain Kaun

and others.....

Thanks, Izzy, UL, Arsh,

I think I'll try to get hold of this one if possible, the quality looks top notch, one of the better DEI titles with EROS.....

do u all know if the picture is cropped like the infamous DEI problems with their EROS titles, or is it the normal aspect ratio....looking at the screenshots it looks that it might be cropped.

No problem-o!

Like I said :D Yup its cropped but does not suffer from the infamous DEI Squish problem if that is what you mean. Regarding ERO$ logo, I can remember if it has one, if it does it comes and goes not that annoying and nothing you can do about it.

Take care!

UL

(Same to you, Mads!) :P

The disc is pseudo-progressive, has good colour/contrast rendition and sound and also has subtitles for the songs, but is cropped the same as the Eros/DEI release - although Shemaroo's version seems to have been framed differently.

Thanks stephen for the shots, but you didnt mention if it had the making of like other subhash ghai films from shemaroo.

Also could you find shots of the following films:
AAA (shemaroo)
Mr India (shemaroo)
Nastik (shemaroo)
Satte pe satta (shemaroo)
Shaan (ultra)

No extras on the Khalnayak disc I'm afraid - just some trailers from other Shemaroo releases. I don't have any of the other DVDs you mentioned, but I have seen clips from Shemaroo's AAA and it looked infinitely better than DEI's release - much less rusty-coloured and better contrast rendition.
