The Game:
'A dangerous game is about to begin,' goes the tagline of Aankhen. There are no rules here, but not everyone can play this game. Only one man knows how to play it.
A sincere, hard-working bank manager Vijay Singh Rajput (Amitabh Bachchan) is fired from his job when his anger gets the better of him.
To wreak revenge, he masterminds a gameplan to rob the same bank, with three blind men: Vishwas, Arjun and Ilias (Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal and Paresh Rawal). He employs the services of skillful teacher Neha (Sushmita Sen) to train them.
Does Vijay Singh and his team succeed in looting the bank?

As an actor, there are two sides to Amitabh Bachchan: one that treads the tried and tested path -- the egotistical father of Mohabbatein, Ek Rishtaa -- The Bond of Love and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
The other explores and experiments: Aks and now, Aankhen. Like Aks, Big B’s role in Aankhen has shades of grey.
AB's role in Aankhen is reportedly similar to his character in Sanjay Gupta's forthcoming Kaante, also about a heist.

Akshay Kumar has been known for his daredevil stunts throughout his career. Apparently, while shooting for this film in Cape Town, South Africa, Akshay had a near fatal accident.
Playing a sporty and adventurous guy in Aankhen, a scene required him to swim alongside a shark. Unfortunately, the shark turned a bit aggressive and Akki was rescued in the nick of time.

He might have a hat-trick of flops (Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat, Deewanaapan and Moksha), behind him, but Arjun Rampal might just be on a good wicket with Aankhen.
Like most newcomers, Arjun, too, was in awe of Amitabh Bachchan, describing him as an 'institution' and working with him was, for him, a 'great learning experience'.

The versatile Paresh Rawal aims to hit the bull's eye as the comic relief in Aankhen. He is a street-smart beggar who wants to get rich quick.
For authenticity, director Vipul Shah shot one of the sequences on a local train at Mumbai's Mahalaxmi station. Rawal and costar Amitabh Bachchan, on whom the scene was picturised, were impervious to all the excitement their presence created at the bustling station.

Sushmita Sen has always played a strong, independent woman. In Aankhen, she reportedly kicks butt. The actress, who recently received critical acclaim for her fine performance in Filhaal, was not the first choice for the film.
Raveena Tandon was initially roped in for the role. But Sushmita stepped in when Raveena opted out.

The Ajnabee pair of Akshay Kumar and Bipasha Basu sizzled on screen with the foot-tapping Mehbooba (Ajnabee), the duo is expected to create magic as they skate on ice to the beat of the chart-busting Gustakhiyaan.
High on the success of the spooky thriller Raaz (directed by Vikram Bhatt), Bipasha has a special appearance in Aankhen.

Aankhen teams model-turned-actors Sushmita Sen and Arjun Rampal for the first time. Arjun and Sushmita Sen form the only love angle in the film.
The other couple, Akshay Kumar and Bipasha Basu appear together only in a song sequence.

The storyline of Aankhen has been adapted from a Gujarati play named Andhalo Pato (Blindman's bluff) by Aatish Kapadia. He has now developed the play into a full-length motion film.
The film was was earlier called All The Best. However, the producer Gaurang Doshi later decided to change it to Aankhen.

Aankhen marks the debut of director Vipul Amrutlal Shah on the big screen. A known name in the Gujarati theatre circles, Shah also has the popular TV serial Ek Mahal Ho Sapnon Ka (Sony Television) to his credit.
With an above average ensemble cast, catchy music and unusual plot, Aankhen has a promising buzz.
The film hits the marquee with an exclusive premiere in Malaysia on April 5.
