Hey guys. Sorry, this is probably a wrong forum altogether, but I don't visit any other indian forums. I don't know where else to post..

I was wondering if there are any reliable online stores where I could get my Digital Photos printed and shipped to in Inida? My family back home wants me to send them some recent photographs, and I was thinking why not get them printed at an online store and get them delivered to them directly??

i COULD email them the photos, but that would restrict them to internet cafes, and MOST of my family members aren't internetech savvy.

please help out a brotha :)

edit: i just noticed this place. anyone use their service?? I need to send to a rural area...so a bit skeptical. lol http://www.123shots.com/

If you are in NY then there are 1000s of chineese shops available for very cheap. I get my 4 x 6 prints 2 copies for 15 cents (7.5 each).

I also see ad in Sun TV for Sony and Canon Digital camera. So I am sure in India also we must have digital labs, so you can also send the CD.

Went to India in December 2004 and there were quite a few digital photo places in Coimbatore. My uncle got some digital photos printed in Trichy, and the quality was decent.

You have a few options:

1) Try that website for 2-3 photos and see if you are satisfied.
2) Print the photos in the US and send them via snail mail.
3) Buy a photo printer and send them via snail mail.
4) Send them a CD and let them get selected photos printed in a city that has digital printing places.

I'm already familiar with most of these options.

Option 1) Leaning towards this option the most
Option 2) This is my second option. This was what I originally planned on doing, then I remembered us americans can get them printed online, so why not indians??
Option 3) I don't think me sending them a photo printer via snail mail will reach them :P j/k I don't want to maintain a photo printer that I will hardly ever use
Option 4) no way. I don't want them to incur the costs onto them

but sanks for the suggestions :) I'll try the first, I'll let you guys know how it turns out(or not).

http://www.kodakexpress.co.in/ Allow you to upload pictures and they will print and post out in India. I have used them in the past to send pictures to relatives in rural villages.

If your relatives have a VCD player make a VCD using Nero or Pro Show Gold and send them the CD.

I just noticed your post on this forum and thought of replying:

I do business development for 123shots.com.

We ship anywhere in India or the world. If your location is rural the orders will go by Indian Post, otherwise by courier (BlueDart or DTDC). If for some reason the order doesnt reach your party or you dont like the print quality, we will reprint and reship at no cost to you. Or refund you the money.

All orders are printed and shipped from Bombay. Most of the orders are shipped with 1 business day after you have placed it.

Thanks
Paresh
