Received an e-mail from DEI over the weekend:

DEI's DVD of "SAHIB BIBI AUR GHULAM" (Meena Kumari, Guru Dutt)
should be available by January 3, 2002.

it is so cool that DEI is doing this classic .. i got a bit worried last week when i saw the film being screened on B4U that it may be an eros b4u release but this is good news.....

i know there is thread containing screenshots by arsh. but the zulm search isn't finding it.

i got the dvd recently, but the sound is so low, but the print is awesome. is it just my dvd copy or all copies are like that?

The print of SAHIB BIBI AUR GHULAM is indeed excellent. However, the audio on my home DVD player (Toshiba) is just the opposite.
The DEI intro/tag sounds fine, but once the menu/movie begins, the sound is barely a whisper.

After numerous adjustments to my DVD player and after returning the disc 3 times, I simply gave up.

note:
Each time I returned the disc, the audio was fine when tested on the in-store equipment. This is definitely a mystery to me. I own about 200 DVDs (many of them by DEI) and SAHIB BIBI AUR GHULAM is the only disc w/audio incompatible with my player.
