Cant judge from the screenshots but looks like a ok DVD from video quality.

I love the inclusion of deleted scenes and directors cut.

Thanks for the screenshot dvdunlimited

Will post later. I saw the complete movie. The story line is great but I can see that they made a lot of mistakes during last half hour, probably didnt know how to take the movie to finish. There is no single place where they disclose their love for each other. This may have been in the original movie or in the deleted scenes! I thought this is a big mistake.

The packaging was very good, just like Kal Ho Na Ho.

I hope ayngaran will release some good ones atleast with good package.

du, did u feel the anamorphic ratio is slightly done wrong? I felt the people looked thinner than normal. Not too much though!

I'll be seeing the movie tonight. I think the DVD quality is very similar to Arya DVD from KAD and not as great as Gudumba Shankar or Tagore.

Yup it has been stretched vertically, when they sell non anamorphic as anamorphic, usually pirated version of anamorphic, end up like this!
but a legitimate dvd looking like this is awful, imho.
I know what DU is going to do with me!

I havent seen it yet but from the description, it looks like it does have subtitles

http://www.idreamdvd.com/telproduct.asp?pID=1000

DISK 1:

1. The Movie (Theatrical Version)
2. Director's Cut
3. Deleted Scenes (35 Minutes)
4. Subtitles in English - both in Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS.

Is the DVD permanently stretched like that or are those caps merely not resized to 16:9?

How is this accomplished? Is there really 6 hours of video on one disc or does it use seamless branching or something?

Seemless branching like they do for PLAY ALL SONGS! Some scenes that were cut-off end up being seperate chapters. The first option skips those chapters.

KAD should have made Directors CUT selected by default as the movie looks more continues then. Also, DU mentioned about ending being abrupt when he say it. He wouldn't have felt it that way if he say Director's cut.

Great direction, SUPERB music and background score and excellent Audio mix. I enjoyed the movie a lot and seen it twice already this weekend.

Watch interviews on disk 2 first and then watch the movie. It will be a better experience.

I have heard good things about the movie from my friends and i am wondering - Is this a good blind buy or do you guys recommend a rental first ? . is this is a "good" masala movie or is it more than a "typical" movie ? . i am hoping to branch out beyond Hindi and Tamil.

Thanks

dvdisoil, this is no masala movie or a typical movie! This is more like how a good movie should be made! My recommendation is it's a 'good buy'. Even for those who didn't like the movie, they enjoyed the music so much that they want the DVD just for that.

Everything in the movie is so close to reality. How the characters talk to how they act!
