Image screenshots coming up shortly.

Ali's review on Yashraj The Burning Train can be found here!

Running time: 143 minutes (on Yashraj)
Running time: 185 minutes (on Shemaroo)

does the shemaroo version still sounds cut/incomplete?

Looks like the complete version. Checked the BBFC site out - only other version listed is from Famous Video when they did a VHS release in the UK, which has a running time of 178mins. Taking into consideration the 4% PAL speed issues for the VHS the DVD seems complete.

Considering that the movie was originally released in 70MM 6 track stereophonic sound, it would be nice if someone stepped up to the plate and released DVDs with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. I know, I know. One can dream though, right? Ofcourse, while we are dreaming, let me add it would be really nice to have Sholay, Razia Sultan, Saagar, Ali Baba Aur Chalis Chor, Karma, Kranti, Shalimar etc. etc. also released on DVD with DD 5.1 sound.

I could be wrong, but whenever I see the Shemaroo dvd, I feel that the climax is a little bit shorter than what it was in theatres... especially the sequence in which workers are building an alternate railway track.

The moserbaer version looks very neat

176 could be the PAL-to-NTSC 4% Speed up which seems to be happening with a lot of these Moserbaer releases

When film is transferred using PAL, a 4% speedup is introduced -- so basically, film-to-PAL is what would play 4% faster.

when PAL is transferred to NTSC, the usual thing to do is correct the speedup. moserbaer seems to have PAL masters (meaning fil-to-PAL at 4% speedup) and doesn't seem to be correcting the speedup during PAL-to-NTSC transfers. Or even doing film-to-NTSC directly (which would be without the 4% speedup).

Except the opening credits, moserbaer video (The Burning Train) seems to be cropped...
Censor Cert says "70mm" -- what should have been the original AR?
