are there any online retailers that sell Tamil DVD-Audio discs? dvdunlimited?? I'm looking for Virumaandi in particular! Kadhal Kondein too, if its been released.

You don't mean video DVDs or CDs, do you? DVD-Audios with PCM at greater than CD resolution?

There are some resident experts here who can correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding is that DVD Audio is a format where you would store the audio with more resolution or even with featuers like Dolby and DTS. For e.g. if you listen to "Unnavida" song in Virumandi DVD, the sound of the bus crossing the TVS 50 will start with a very low noice and increase and will reduce again. This effect is in the CD also, but not precisely. there is a difference between listening song thru' a CD and DVD and thats what the DVD Audio is going to fill
(imagine you are playing a song in a DVD, closing your eyes!)

None of the indian audio is released in DVD Audio format yet. some CDs in India claims that they support DVD Audiio but reall not.

mhafener, to my knowledge, DVD-Audio discs do exist in the Tamil world.

some mallu guy told me that he was going to get the DVD-Audio disc of BOYS. And I supposedly have the DVD-Audio rips in .mp3 format, but they sound like shit. I met the guy online, but i haven't seen him in a long time. I don't recall whether or not he had a dolby/dts audio system to confirm. hell, i dont know for sure but that would be REAL sweet!

Boys was the first Indian movie to release its audio in DVD-Audio disc. Virumandi also had a DVD-Audio release.

i believe "Boys" had a DTS CD, not DVD-Audio.
