Wots the best movie scene?
mine has to be:
-BOLLYWOOD-
AB's death in Muqaddar ka Sikandar, that scene touches u man..with the song in the background and flashbacks of his childhood. Fan-fucking-tastic!!

-HOLLYWOOD-
Pacino and De Niro talking in a cafe in Michael Manns HEAT!!
Pacino: "Brother u r goin' down!"
De Niro: "There's a flip side to that coin..."
Excellent!

Best scene in a Bollywood flick actually three;

1) In Amar Prem when Vinod Mehra comes looking for Sharmila and finds the tree he had planted as kid is now has bloomed into a tree and when Rajesh Khanna introduces Sharmila as Vinod's mother in the final scene. Contolled, effective & moving without being melodramtic.

2) The second from Mere Huzoor where Mala Sinha accuses Raj Kumar of putting her husband Jeetandra on path of self destruction. Two great stars trying to outshine each other, one bitter and angry and other cool and restrained. Powerful without being over the edge.

Best from Hollywood well there are several featuring Marlon Brando & Al Pacino from The first Godfather still require a second look. Classic as they come, often imitiated but never equalled.

I'll say memorable scenes but not favourite (cause each of these are awesome).

Mission Kashmir - the scene where Hrithik climbs down the stairs in slo-mo while the sun rises and the main song (dhuan dhuan) is played out in whispers. This is just prior to his showdown with Sanjay Dutt.

Mission Kashmir - the Hrithik vs. Sanjay Dutt fight

Dil Se - The Manisha Koirala vs SRK scene at the very end. Wow!!

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge - the Na Jaane Kahan song when both SRK and Kajol head home after the train trip

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge - the Interval scene with SRK saying "Main Aa Raahan Hoon Simran"

Dil To Paagal Hai - the Interval scene with SRK saying "Maya!!" - FANTASTIC!!

Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa - the title song during the credits.

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron - the whole Ramayan scene. Guy that made me laugh for hours just thinking about it!!

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron - the ending. Amazingly funny.

Gupt - the Intermission scene - THE BEST EVER!!

Lagaan - the cricket match. Even though the movie is NOT THE BEST IMO, that cricket match has to be one of the most intense sequences ever filmed.

AND THE MOTHER OF ALL SCENES:

AB's DEATH scene in SHOLAY!!! I remember crying and being impressed by it when I was a kid. I used to roleplay all the time with pretending I was surrounded by a bunch of bandits and I only had one bullet left. That scene was FRIGGIN AMAZING!!!

Ah this is tough one.. but I will try to pick one.

Bollywood :

Akshay's run back to his house after Dimple's agreeing to his proposal to paint her in DCH. The scene is just awesome depicting happiness with impatience. I was overwhelmed by the progressive run. Well done Farhan

Hollywood :

Kate Winslet's jump back to Titanic while she was on her descent to the waters in the lifeboat with Leo and her fiance lookin over the ship's deck. Beautifully done. Melts me.

My Fav Hollywood scene :-

When Michael Douglas "manhandles" Jeanne Tripplehorn in BASIC INSTINCT, after drinking 4 shots of Bourbon !...it did really "stir" me up :p

As for my fav Bollywood scene :-

Raj Babbar single-handedly Raping Zeenat Aman in Insaaf Ka Tarazu ... Not that I condone the concept in anyway...but the fact is, he actually tutored folks how to do that..and the censors allowed that to pass without any cuts, amazes me even till today
:p

I guess I live upto my reputation as a complete ..you-know-what :)

Few favs scenes;

Shakti; mum dies and AB enters rooms, scene last for about 5 minutes and is purely emotion and power driven - no dialogues at all while AB and Dilip go head to head.

Ageenepath; crossing of the fire climax scene with that music (original version)

Mission Kashmir; climax scene is just electric - one of the reasons been waiting for the official DVD because just by looking at scene you now some mental surround effects have been done.

Pulp Fiction; ‘bring out the gimp’ - WTF! :tounge:

Reservoir Dogs; ear chop and that revelation scene.

Natural Born Killers (only on directors cut DVD) - this one just kills me, what the inmates do to Tommy Lee Jones :D :plain:

Some of my favorites:

Bollywood-
Mughal-E-Azam : The song 'Mohe Panghat Pe' and the scene with the feathers between Dilip and Madhubala

Pakeezah : The song 'Thare Rahyo'. The scene when Meena runs away in madness right before they were supposed to be married. Meena with the kite hanging and going mad and thinking about going to perform for Raaj Kumar's wedding.

Seeta aur Geeta : Hema (as the mistaken twin) stands up to the Brother in Law. The song 'Koi larke'

Hum Aapke Hain Kaun - during the wedding song when Madhuri finds the shoes and runs upstairs and then Salman catches her and holds her wrists and twists a little and she looks at him.

Aandhi - 'Tere Bina Zindagi'

Hollywood-

Sense and Sensibility - Kate is dying and Emma is begging her not to die and leave her in this world alone. Near the end when Hugh Grant comes over to the house and Emma realized that he wasn't married.

The Sound of Music - when The Captain hears his kids singing and comes inside and starts singing with them. The wedding scene

Elizabeth - when Cate faces the parliament. When she tells Joseph that she is no one's elizabeth.

Planet of the Apes (the original with Charleston Heston) - First encounter with the speaking apes. The final scene when he realizes that he is in fact on earth

Empire of the Sun - when the little boy was singing and looking at the soldiers from the camp. The final scene when he gets re-united with his parents.

The War of the Roses - there are so many good scenes and dialogue thru out the film but the ending is great with her reaching over and taking his hands off of her shoulder.

Money Pit - when the tub falls thru the floor and Tom just starts cracking up!

These are just a few. :D
