I just watched this last night and the dvd was surprisingly decent quality. I wasnt expecting much as it is a samrat dvd. I saw Hum dvd by samrat prior to this and that dvd was just pure crap so I wasnt optimistic about it. Naram Garam was quite a decent Hrishikesh Mukherjee comedy and is similar in style to his other comedies. Though Golmaal and Chupke Chupke are far superior as films and as dvds, this was still a decent effort. I wouldnt say its a classic but it definetly is worth watching. The picture quality is quite clean and consistent all throughout all though sometimes there is a tinting problem where whites appear as yellow. Colours also are sometimes washed out and no way near as vibrant as they should be. Sharpness also isnt always consistent. The sound is really what lets the film down. It is fairly mute and lacklustre 4 channel output. There is some minor hissing but doesnt spoil the enjoyment that much. Overall PQ 5.8/10 Sound 4.5/10 From the fact that this is a samrat dvd, this is pretty good by their standards. Definetly watchable and worth owning for fans of the movie. The cover looks shit and is the same format as 16 december (single folded cardboard case).
