1.) He saw the Long kiss Goodnight (just like me) after many years

2.) He was at first infatuated with Geena Davis and wanted to Flex his muscles at her prototype in Bollywood

3.) Then he saw her dare-devil stunts and also the fact that a young kid did SUSU in his pants

4.) He then realized that he had no chance playing the role of Sam Jackson and hence had to play someone else..and who else but Geena Davis herself

5.) He then decided that it would be unfair to act besides a respectable heorine, so he choose Sushmita Sen (whoever she may resemble)

6.) He needed his own dosage of songs so he choose Diya Mirza...

7.) Pankaj Parashar canned the film and the reportes asked Salman abt his reactions....

8.) Salman said this " Great he was a great director to work with...Yeh fillum zara Hatke Hain.....Apun ko abhi..jaker fir se LONG KISS GOODNIGHT dekhne ka hai ...Chalti hai kya 9 se 12 :p"

9.) He leaves the producers in a lurch and goes away...

10.) And thus m/f's (you know what I mean here), TNBP became a glorious and memorable HHHHHHH....errr sorry Flop !

The No. 1 to No. 10 reason for why 'Tumko Na Bhool Payenge' flopped is:

The audience has wisened up to the fact that he is a 'chakka' who has no class and who thinks making faces is acting, while crude and vulgar sounds and actions is comedy.

There was a time when actually I thought he was one of the better actors (stars) in the industry but after his real self was exposed I personally cannot stand him.

IMO, TNBP!! Became FORGETTABLE!! FLOP!!

IT WAS A BAD MOVIE...Worst some body could do to LONG KISS GOODNIGHT!

There are very few actresses in India who can portray the role essayed by Geena Davis. IMO, either it could have been TABU ( cos of her height ) or Madhuri for her charm !...( sorry my Paki friends I dont know any actress from there who could have done that...maybe NIRMA ..but thats a wild guess)..

Now as for Samuel Jackson, I would have preferred Naseruddin Shah, cos he is an actor who would have blended easily into this role. Secondly he is one actor who doesnt have an ego to star opposite a heorine in a heorine centric film (unlike all our other Bollywood Hero's !)...

Madhuri's Husband's role could have been played by anyone... and the villain, Timothy could have been played Arjun Ramphal !...

As for the theme, it could have been very similar (" so you do this and blame it on the Arabs in this country ")... could have been modified to ("So ISI you do this and then you make us believe that Muslims in India have done that"...but that would have becom too beligerenat hence maybe that could have been changed ")...

The border crossing could have been the Indo-Nepal Border ...

Geena Davis trying to seduce Samuel Jackson, could have been turned into a song etc etc etc..are all the various possibilities !

Well Arsh again read the comments..U asked for my theory of a better version of the story :-

H - They wanted more funding and the best way was to devise a strategy to give BUDNAAM to Muslims and hence blame the Arabs ....(watch the ending part of the film)

B - They cant do the same in Bollywood..censor rules aa jayega..so the only option left is to fall back is to Good old Paki(stani) Bashing and what better way to do it then state what I had stated.... Of cos doing that would require some ingenious plots..and the storyline would have to change considerably !
